Oldie from West Yorks

  1. Had a few Dukes over the years, and have owned my red 1999 748 Biposto for 4 1/2 years now. It's pretty uncomfortable, or should I say, it's pretty and it's uncomfortable.
I reckon my next ride might have to be a scooter as my legover isn't what it used to be (hope my wife doesn't read this).
I only do a few hundred miles a year in strictly warm dry weather, hence, my bike hasn't been out this year.
I used to do a bit of road racing and hill climb events on a Ducati 500sl Pantah many years ago, to no success, so I recognise my limits now and am lucky to get it out of fourth gear.
Still, the only good thing about getting old, is cheaper bike insurance.

  11. :upyeah:Welcome, 'tis a nice place this, you should have fun!

  12. Welcome. It can certainly be a bit bleak at Outlane, I worked on a barn conversion there about 15 years ago. I remember looking off the scaffolding across the M62 towards a golf club. Lot's of nutters trying to play golf in a Force 10 hurricane

Probably a bit late in the year now but maybe next spring a Yorkshire Ducatisti Breakfast ride-in?
Maybe somewhere handy like Saltaire or somewhere less handy like the cafe by the Memorial at Olivers Mount? Good excuse for a lap or two.
    Cheers

  13. The good thing about living in the clouds, is that someone lower down gets all the flooding.

It would take a lot of balls to play golf at Outlane, but some do.
