I have a good few, tbh not as good as they used to be! But you put trust in they are the best, so you start out with the best chance at fixing whatever your working on
If your a professional mechanic or spend a serious about of time with the spanners, then yes, well worth it. Otherwise there are plenty of more viable alternatives. Saying that, how cool is that tool kit
A few good deals around on eBay, that or SnapOn online. Best way to buy is the weekly deals from your SnapOn man, find your local chap and give him a call they are always up for meeting you at said workshops etc...try never to pay the RRP as its way overpriced IMO.
Agree, I have a mix of tools, Halfords pro are good value for money and just as good as SnapOn and other big names IMO, the SnapOn gang would never admit it but its true, I have a nice HM Plant SnapOn box from eBay in mint condition too so some bargains to be had as it cost me a monkey for a 2k box.
I like Teng myself. The do a good starter chest on evilbay for about £500. I have a mix of that, draper expert and halfords. I tend to look around if I need something, and pick from those 3 brands, with price being the deciding factor in these times. matt
Being cack handed I tend to leave spannering to someone that knows what they are doing and prolly has all the Snap-On tools themselves :smile:
I have a mix of Halfords, Snap On, and Clark. I've never broken any of them even with a decent sized breaker bar. The only things I go through are Allen key T bars, I've yet to find a decent set.
Snapon 3/8 keys I have seem to last for ever, Ive dressed a couple thats it, also the blue Draper keys I have on the side of my box Ive had for twenty years! I use them 7 days a week.
yep snap on is good stuff, life time garrentee i believe, myself being on the tools for a living you need decent tools, not a mechanic but i use, draper expert, halfords pro, bahco & CK range of screwdrivers, you get what you pay for in tools i beleive, mine would last a lifetime in use daily which they get ,,,,,,,,,,,if i didnt lose the odd one now and again!, my decent socket set which i bought from cromwell tools 20 years ago for £90 odd is as good as the day i bought it, so you dont need to go snap on etc, just decent stuff, draper expert do an excellent socket set, kev
