Well my Hyper has now gone... Really nice bike but I just missed a sportier handling.... Had some fun and great help on this forum so thank you to all
Really? I took a test ride on one 2 years back, only 15 mins, but was disappointed. Not ridden a Hyper so that's good info. Enjoy the new bike.
Law of averages says some won't like them... It's not as sharp as my ZX6R was but definitely better than my Hyper for me....I just didn't feel like I could push the front on my Hyper and my riding style is more front end heavy...
dont know what its better than, / whats its worse than,,, but lookin at takin a test run on pinagile in local dealer so havin a look around,,, sat on a street fighter , ( thot it was a monster which the wifey q likes :flushed: ) and did not feel right,,,,windy ????
Wow - you sold that quickly! Triumphs...i dunno, my perception of them is so british, old fashioned and antiquated...i picture a bloke on an old bonneville or something like that with a side car bolted to it, wearing a bullet-head crash helmet with goggles shouting at his wife "Darling! - im off to the building society!" And that seems to be ringing true at the moment as everything they seem to produce looks like its getting older and older looking! Having said that if you put a gun to my head a speed triple is the only one id own....more than happy with the zed. Ironically Jody while i was Ducati-less for a year i stayed on here and as you say its probably one of the best forums ive ever been on. Be nice if you hang around...
I know what your saying @comfysofa , I never though I would have got a Triumph but it ticked all the boxes I wanted.... Quite sporty handling Looks different to run of the mill Single Swingarm Sounds nice (even on standard cans) Decent torque (equal standard to my Tuned, exhaust etc. Hyper) Decent power (standard around 30-40bhp more compared to Tuned etc. Hyper) After that the fact it says Trumpet on the tank was irrelevant Don't get me wrong I wouldn't buy a new one, they do seem to be pulling old drawings out of the design filing cabinet.... I always disliked the whistling sound on the 675s I heard but the 1050 sounds a bit less harsh plus you don't hear it while riding really Yeah I'm definitely staying As of this my DP rear paddock stand and other bits (standard seat, standard exhausts, Termignoni baffles, standard airbox lid) are up in the sale section If I get no offers on them then they will be binned...Can't be arsed to put them on eBay for 6 months
I've got an 05 1050 Speedy and love it. Fabulous bike that doesn't take itself too seriously. The 675 is a great engine and perfect for something light like a daytona or street triple. Triumph make some great bikes, some average bikes and some bikes that simply sell on nostalgia.....have had a Bonnie as a loaner and just didn't see any redeeming features. Looks cheap, rides poorly, goes poorly etc. But the speed triple is brilliant. I hope it suits your needs better
Yeah - the whistling - i really dont like that...you just reminded me...! Be interested to see what you think of it once youve gotten used to it...
The Street Triple R & Daytona are incredible, not tried the speed but if the former are anything to go by, you got yrself a peach of a bike... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Before I rode it I though it would drive me mad but as I said, even with standard cans you don't really hear it...You tube videos seem to pick it up more than the exhaust note......there was a good video of a bloke with SC exhausts on one.....let me find it...... The popping is because he hasn't removed the air injection for emissions (had the same on my CBR600RR)
Yep - sounds nice....a lad at work had one (roughly around the same year as yours) but crucially he had a single exit low pipe....which imo tidies up and makes the rear end look way better. Theres a bit too much going on up above the back wheel in the stock configuration...probably why i like my zed...the rear end is reminiscent of my rsv4...
Subjective....on that bike i prefer the single exit down low....ironically i think the only bike (for me where a high level twin exit looks good is the hyper!)....
Don't suppose u are interested in a set of Arrow pipes? My friend has a tidy set he has been meaning to sell for ages and would let them go for a decent price? Let me know Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
