  1. If the bore/stroke are the same why would there be more spares, wouldn't there be the same amount?

  2. More s/h spares, the 998R/999R motors have different bore/stroke valves unique to those bikes only.

  5. Others will know much more than I do, but in my view the 999R, either model, simply doesn't compete with the 8R... All that space behind you..., I always felt that you sat on it - not in it... I couldn't come to terms with the 9R and couldn't wait to get shot of mine. The 996R... what's special about that motor compared to the 8R ? The 8R also sounds different to other "similar" Ducatis... No competition I'm afraid ! The 8R is sooo much better.
