British Indy: What Happens Now?

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Wonder why someone never suggested it before....

  2. they did. several threads back.

  3. The UK is not Belgium. The UK is a country where nearly all services and benefits are non-contributory in the sense that you don't have to have paid a certain amount for a certain time. The UK is a country where adjusting Housing Benefit for people who don't pay their own rent can be called a "bedroom tax". This is why Dave thought it easier to claim that he had got a good deal from the EU rather than admit that things would have to change if we did not want a Brexit.

  4. and dont start yer bitchen if you notice a price rise at yer next car service. according to my main supplier there has been a 3% increase over 18 product ranges. i had noticed an increase, hence why i asked.

  5. Italian bike kit is going up between 6 and 15% over the next month

  6. OEM timing belts have gone up massively last time I looked, not sure why, mine will be much less of a rise, riding the storm, and better too

  7. Sounds like another opportunity for someone to build things in the uk, god knows we have the empty places to do it, and may be time to start looking at that B&B by the sea :upyeah:

  8. As far as I know Ducati belts are still made in the uk on the same old machinery - then they are sold to Italy cheap with the new rates, then they are sold back expensive as the pound has fallen. Go figure :) someone is making a killing :Wideyed:

  14. Well if anything the current situation with the currency is going to make them even more competitive worldwide.

Unfortunately for me my holiday in Cyprus next week is going to cost more for a beer and food, on the flip side my Mrs did win it in the first place. As we're self catering in an apartment I'm happy enough to ride the storm and shop at the supermarket :)

Sun, swimming pool and tennis courts are free regardless of exchange rates!

  15. JCB and the Bamford family are big donators to the Tory party.

Interesting that the Party that keeps bleating about this is the will of the people and democracy, is quite happy to take a very autocratic view of the actual negotiations and not consult Parliament on what they are preparing to do. Get this wrong and it could kill the Tory Party for a generation.

  16. Wouldn't it be great to see some decent politicians or parties emerging from leaving the EU. The UK doesn't need negativity and the BBC seem to be the main peddlers of doom and gloom.

Never thought I'd say this, but if manufacturers such as Ducati start increasing prices under the guise of the UK leaving the EU, I as a consumer will not buy their products.

So, will Ducati build their bikes outside the EU, doubt it.

If the UK deal with Japan, I'm happy to ride a gsxr.

  17. youre a braver man than me

  18. There is not a single automotive manufacturer (car or bike) in Europe that can afford to lose the UK market on the say-so of European politicians who wish to damage the UK economically as punishment for voting Brexit. Throwing away their UK market share would have catastrophic consequences for economies across Europe and many - well all of them really - are in enough trouble already, particularly in the Eurozone. If EU Commissars force an act of self-harm on member states there will be membership referendums coming thick and fast all over Europe.
