Hi guys (& girls)! Yes, bit of an odd user name for a Ducati forum but its been my screen name on various forums for a few years now. Anyway, my reason for joining is that I'm a potential new buyer, prob not to 2017 though but thought I'd start to look about now. I've had various bikes, blades, gsxr's, ZX6R track bike (just sold) & currently own a 1978 Z750 twin Cafe Racer self build & a near finished Z650 which is VERY heavily modified in pretty much every way. I initially set about looking for a 1098s, then my head upgraded me to an 1198s & after seeing a friends 1299s I'll be trying to stretch myself to a 'normal' 1199, they just look fantastic!......so if anyone has some advice or pointers please feel free to say. I'll be lurking through the forum for some info & tips so don't be too alarmed if I don't post up too much initially. Thanks & see you around
Welcome plenty of 750 Ducati's in the past so not unusual perhaps unusual to think it was unusual though, so yes, maybe unusual after all :Wideyed:
I will, when I'm ready to buy. Was talking to a guy on eBay & he was aranging some pics to be sent to me but someone bought it before he got taking any. 2012 1199 ABS, 15k & £9k. That seemed ok to me!
Welcome ! Plenty on here from up your way and down here. I have an 1199s for sale. Only 9500 kms. Irish bike. ( only selling to get duke track bike and hyper if I can ) I had the 1199 advertised but took it off as I had to many **kin **holes annoying me, typical. Let me know if you want details.
hi,, been looking at 1199 myself,,there is one local but i really want an "S ".. ( any photo of your other modified bikes ? )
Ok, here are the builds guys for whoever may be interested; Z750 Twin, engine standard but there are a few specially made pieces, this took about 8 months to build went from this; To this; This one is a bit more complicated, it has so far taken 2 years & still isn't running, when i get the garage sorted i'll have to find why it's chewing starter clutches up & change the ECU from Ignitech to MBE, Ignitech have been a VERY unhelpful bunch! It's a 1979 Z650 (frame shortened 100mm), GPz Turbo engine (bored to 810cc, strengthened, GT2056 Turbo, custom intercooler, forged pistons, GPz 1100 throttle bodies with 350cc injectors, repositioned oil cooler & oil stat fitted, custom made plenum) ZRZ 1200 swingarm, 2008 ZX10R front end & ZX7R wheels with CBR monoblock Calipers & ZX6R rearsets. It was to run sequential injection but i think i bit off more than i can chew before getting it going, i'm going to try wanted spark to get it running then move on from there if i can, not having a Cam sensor for the sequential inj is a bit of a problem but hey ho, it is what it is! If all goes to plan it should be 180-200hp & after that i'll need to get new header pipes made up to get another 20/25hp. Some people watch TV, i piss about at this!! lol Need to change the shocks for piggyback reservoir ones to fill some of that gap! Exhaust has been added since this pic. Bandit 1200 clocks, fuel gauge removed & replaced with a boost gauge/wideband AFR meter. Oil temp gauge below Hidden adjustable boost controller, NOT a bleed valve, this was done properly Sold this a few months ago & still kinda wish i hadn't but it wasn't getting used, loved this bike! 07 ZX6R, KRT ECU & Loom, Bitubo shock, GPR Damper, Brembo 19x20 FR m/c, ZX6RR Forks with Ohlins Cartridge kit, Arrow Cup LTD edition exhaust (bigger bore) & WSS ZX6 Fairings, 119.8hp, std engine. Wee bike was great ridden in anger!! lol
Oh yeah, 1 for you guys & i almost forgot! Silverstone trackday & forward to about 7minutes in, i was bloody nervous around this guy incase i ran into him!! We were going slow at this point under a red flag but at one stage i had to pass him while we were let at it, needless to say he got extra room!!, sure it's JUST a Desmo!!
