Update : I phoned Amazon and they then tell me that they cannot proceed with the investigation, basically as far as they're concerned the package was delivered ! this was the reply We have fully investigated this matter with the carrier. Based on the results of our investigation, we won’t be able to provide a replacement/refund for this order at this time. We advise you to contact your local police authorities, if necessary, in order to pursue this matter further. If the issue isn't resolved after contacting local police please contact us again with the police crime report. Without the police report, we're unable to take further action. A copy of the report as a PDF, JPG or PNG file can be submitted to the following address: [email protected] Please be sure it includes key information including: 1. your police crime report number 2. the details of the station where the incident was reported 3. the name of the investigating officer 4. a contact phone number for the police station Thank you for your understanding. Warmest regards, Tiernan.C I've phoned the police and have all the info Amazon need so hopefully they will replace/refund
This is probably to cover themselves. Any chancers after a free second item are unlikely to want to involve the police.
I've just sent the email and details to Amazon. If I get no joy, the officer said that I can demand the driver details etc so the police can look further into it. Surely Amazon will look into the driver anyway ? even tho' they haven't said as much to me ? Surely they won't just refund/replace and leave it at that ?
Final update. I have my satnav ! A resident from further down the street brought it round yesterday and said they've had it for ages and said they kept missing us to hand it over ! ffs ... I've emailed Amazon to explain. I also asked them to tell the drivers to at least put a note through the door saying where they left it . It's still annoying that he said he'd handed to me at 18:53 when we were both in. It would have saved a lot of problems..!
maybe it was 8.53 ,,,,,,,,,,,,, anyway , glad you got it ... ( i can see the next thread,, " how to fix a sat nav to an RSV " )
Either way, I was in at the time. I'm glad too , on my second day trying to get to grips with Garmin basecamp lol
Do not allow your amazon account to have 'leave with neighbour' on it. I live on an active farm with lots of people so I do allow it. Some delivery companies now take a photo of the 'left at xx-adress' so it backs them up. It is a shame that they cannot take a photo of people they leave it with, but currently that is a none starter situation.
I did not select that option. The driver just did what he did off his own bat. I was in just about all day and the time that he said he handed it to 'me' I was in.
I had this sorta thing with parcel force last week. Get a text saying we weren't in and a card was left when we were in with the front door open and there was no card. The lady at the call centre was so thick she couldn't understand how that could be. But we did get the parcel the next day. I've also had a £100 electric razor left on the door step by Amazon.
I've had Parcelforce website tell me there was a parcel to collect but also when I got home there was no card. Turned out the depot had the card because there was import duty to pay. If the sender in the USA hasn't used a tracked service I'd have never known it was in the UK as Parcelforce were holding onto the card waiting for me to pay them £11 for a £20 item.
Glad you got sorted out. Save yourself more grief, dump Basecamp and use ''MotoGoLoco | The Home of Biker Friendly Super easy, works with Garmin or Tomtom. No need to throw sat nav or laptop around the room in a fit of frustration.....
