1200 R C-spanner For Chain Adjustment

Discussion in 'Monster' started by MarkF, Oct 12, 2016.

  1. Anyone found a reasonably priced one? I ordered the Ducati one from Machine Mart and it is too small. Next step is the stealers for an official one.

    Cheers

  2. Many thanks once again, ordered :)

  3. I had some made in 4mm stainless as I could never get any decent ones myself.

  4. Hmm, that one doesn't fit flush either!

  5. Let me see which one mine is. I got it off the bay.

Found it. Well the seller anyway, it was from

  6. @MarkF

Mark, can you take a picture of when you say 'it doesn't fit flush' and post it up

  7. The curve of the spanner is not touching the hub in the centre.

  8. Thats a challenge :) you can just about see that the lower curve of the spanner is not flush to the hub, maybe I am being fussy, but to mind and avoid slippage it should fit flush having the same diameter.

  9. That one won't fit, i know as Have a brand new one too ;)

  10. Ah, ok - i see what you mean. :upyeah:

I'm wondering if all the spanners are like this and don't fit flush for the circumference of the spanner. Could ask in a dealership to see what they say, & perhaps ask to see their spanner at the same time

  11. Seems absolutely inconceivable to me that Ducati don't supply these with the bike. Such a cheap and basic item - it really should be standard.

  12. Agree. When I enquired about it with a dealer back in the summer they said "check your tool kit, the C-spanner would be in there". Clearly, they hadn't been on the M12R course as they don't know how big a C-spanner is!! Doh!
