I was out looking for a paddock stand and bought a helmet. Well, as you see it's red and carbon. Has a much better fit and more plush than my Shark Race R. Says 1290g on the back, I think that means it's designed for up to 1290 g forces. Can't wait to try that. It also has some vents to dry your hair. If you're bald, keep them closed. The clear visor, with pinlock, which stops you steaming up when you get excited, clips on a complicated looking bracket, but pull it back and it comes off fairly easily. No chin material thing like my Shoei, might get a bit draughty without one. Standard double D strap. We all love double D's around our imagination. It's a lovely looking lid. Seems well made, nice liners and the detail at the back should do something, I've no idea what. Anyway, enjoy the photos. Edit- there is chin material, just pull it out. Only idiots (like me) won't know this. Sorry Shark.
Nice looking. Pretty sure 1290g is the weight. Anything being hit with the force of 1290 G's would most likely be vaporised with that kind of impact.
There are lot of lids with different fins/wings etc on the back. TBH I haven't a baldys whether they work or not. The newer shark race r has them, like most sports type lids nowadays.
Bit of feedback. Done about 60 odd mile with the Shark. Not great weather, rain and windy. First impressions, it's quiet and comfortable. In relation to 'noise', there was a noticeable difference from my old lid. There is a little 'noise' from the top vent but, not much. The vents are effective, once opened you could feel the air flow. Low sunrise and set this time of year is difficult, a quick slide and the sun visor drops. With gloves and whilst on the move, the slide is quite easy to find and move. With my old lid, I just squinted and the usual tilt the head, but it's just a pain. Please just note that I used the helmet on my commute and not on a sports bike. IMO, it's a very good helmet, I also have a Shoei and it's up there in comparison. So overall, very pleased. Hope this helps anyone that's interested.
Just a tip: it actually does have a chin curtain, its retractable from the front of the helmet  I've had this helmet for a few months now, love it so far
You are a star I feel a rite tool, but many many thanks for letting me know. I love this lid, use it everyday. With and without chin. Doh!
i thought this was going to be Sharks version of the Lorenzo Spartan.. HJC R-PHA10 Plus J.Lorenzo Spartan 2016 | Helmets... | Pinterest
Well, just over a year on, the little fitting on the internal visor slider on top of the lid broke this morning. Apparently it's covered under warranty. So, return to retailer for repair. Other than that, it's a good lid. don't use any other lid now, well, I will until this one gets fixed.
Oh and helmetcity had a decent wedge of money off it too. Think the missus picked it up for £270-280 ish (obviously I told her which one I wanted... and she then said “isn’t that a bit flamboyant; aka gay”). I do love a lairy lid and always loved that VR Austin Powers lid
