Ok what the purpose of an open clutch?, apart from looking cool Can you just remove the cover and put an open one on? Hypermotard 1100s
@David Hales yes you can just remove the cover and put an open one on. You might want to get stainless springs if you do so they don't rust and look like shit. And coloured collars so they finish it off. Mine is like the attached.
I'm going to buck the trend and say that after 4 years of having an open clutch I've gone for something a bit different, i've never seen another one and its a lot lighter than stock... funnily enough instead of the rattling clutch competing with the engine note for supremacy, I'd almost forgot what my bike sounded like with the titanium termi system, the bike sounds more pure, if that makes sense...
thinking of putting my standard closed cover back on, just to hear the engine/exhaust note with a bit more clarity. Currently looks like this;
I have one like yellowducmaniac's on my race bike and it hasn't overheated despite racing in 30C all summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ive got a ducati performance spider pressure plate for sale if you want to start blinging it up....oh the other reason for a dry clutch is everything that wears off a wet clutch goes round the engine...
Of course, if you go for the quiet clutch mod, you can have an open clutch, a quiet clutch and one that doesn't bash itself to bits - all at the same time
