Got my new Carbon Fiber Rizoma knock-off handle grips in the mail today...not too happy with the color, it's more of an orange-gold like Sato...but I can always get them re- anodized to the Ohlins Gold or just buy the real Rizomas like I had on before! On the other hand, I just went & picked up my PSR Billet Kick-Stand that I just had re-anodized to the Ohlins Gold because it look like the Grips or Sato Gold colour...turned out awesome but I was thinking maybe I should've had the bottom part or sliding part done in black for a 2-tone colour effect...maybe next time...I am very happy with my Anodizer!
UPDATE!!! I just received a shipment from BestemUSA Carbon Fiber today...they are 100% full Carbon Fiber...super excited to get these on! Sprocket Cover, Inner Fairing Covers, Exhaust Heat Shield Cover, V-Fairing Radiator Front Cover with mesh, Under Dash Panel, Upper Heat Shield, Rear Brake Pump Cover and Ram Air Intake Covers!
Nope...but I am going to do something different to them, as you can see the CF is a slight brownish/grey in colour...what I will do will look 100X better...I will post up pics after the complete body is finished.
Here is the rest of my parts, 10 pieces of 100% Carbon Fiber at Sean's place Connecticut Cycle Refinishing (CCR) next week I fly down and design the paint job that will go on!
Straight Carbon Fiber is just to bland for me which is does look good only if the bike has no other colour what so ever...but in my case there will be colour in there...patience grasshopper it should be finished in about 3-4 weeks.
I know lol, some people just don't understand that I like to build my bike to my personal tastes and to something that stands out from the rest of a standard factory bike, it's all good not everyone has to like it.
Started the painting...I went with the 1991-1993 Ducati red over the proper base coat, it's the real Ferrari Red. The best red Ducati ever put on their bikes. Sanded & taped up...
Yes! Looking good so far, looking forward to seeing more custom paint! Good for you on doing what you want! It's personal preference, do what makes you happy.
Tank is just about done, still waiting to get the mystery colour added and another 2 coats of high solids clear. And the tank so far...that Ferrari Red really turned out beautiful, the "DUCATI" lettering is not a decal it is hand painted.
Sweet! Nice touch, the hand lettering. I have a Tank that needs paint as well, need to talk to these guys.
