Does anyone have any information on which is better to use on city roads? Cree or HID? Which kits could you recommend please? Thanks
I did the HID conversion on my 998 and have been very happy with it. I also went with the Euro headlight switch do give me a little more control over the power draw. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You will only be disappointed with any LED bulb in a headlight designed for a halogen bulb, that is why there is not one car or bike manufacturer who does that. There are many who fit HIDs but only in projector headlights.
HID works very well in a 916 dip headlight as it keeps the same cut-off and beam pattern but is so much brighter. I fitted a HID dip beam and a 100w high beam (needs relay + additional wiring) and the lights are very good. :thumbsup:
If you take the projector out of the dip and fit what is called a bi-xenon projector (£15 from ebay) then that will give you the HID dip and main from the same bulb. You can then also have the standard 55 watt main beam in addition.
