I'm sure they were the Desmodue Control tyre my first year, so yes! I won in the wet at Cadwell that year if memory serves me right!
Just checked... I won both of the Sunday races (ignore Mr Appleby, he was in Class A, but the only one that finished in front of me). As you can see it was definitely damp (and chilly!). So upping pressure can work for some
That's a good tip. I'd never heard of it until someone told me, and it really makes a difference. I've done Oulton in 3deg, and although it's blimmin cold, there's still fun to be had, just don't expect summer levels of grip If you're using warmers, and it's really cold, you're never going to keep the heat in the tyres that you'll have straight off the stands no matter how hard or fast you ride, so bear in mind that your grip levels will decrease as the session continues. If you want to get really technical, take a laser thermometer and measure your tyre temps from straight off the warmers and again as soon as you're back in. Like others have said above, drop the pressures a bit, and just go steady until you can start to feel how much grip there is
Novice has gone, not 100% i'm ready for inters......... weather looking good though and wife said yes. What group would you be in?
I'm on the cusp of being between Novice/Inters - I guess i could swan about at the back of the Inters
Don't worry, the pace between novice and inters doesn't differ massively. You will have a couple extra quite fast guys in inters and less of the really slow ones, but generally pace will be quite similar. You'll just pass less people and may get passed by a couple more... generally it is safer because you get less random lines and odd speeds!
Under the trees through hall bends... horrible in autumn when it is wet. I actually had my first ever off that weekend at that exact spot in qualifying.
So, better get my latex gloves as booked in Inters2. @Cream_Revenge I'll PM you my mobile soon, so we can arrange where to meet etc for the convoy down to Kent
