'The beast' KTM - god bless em those bonkers Austrians :)

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by damodici, Nov 13, 2012.

  1. You've gotta love KTM, they do bonkers extremely well and this new super duke 1290R is no exception.

its being called a prototype but its all fully working and rumoured to kick out 180bhp........yes, I know....180BHP......fooooookin hell :)

i suspect the road version won't change much (obviously needs a light etc) and I know not everybody loves orange but c'mon...... I'm loving this, what with a new hyper sp and this in the space of two days its looking like people will be spoilt for when it comes to hooligan fun bikes for next year. It's good to get new naked/supermotos, something a little different than the sportsbike race

  2. Me like. Any tech specs about?

  3. I love my SuperDuke and this new one looks lovely ... but I really don't see the point of 180bhp on a naked.

  4. Me neither but that's why I like it :)

seriously though if they can keep the road version as near to this as possible it'll sure brighten up the roads of the UK, fit an Akra on one and its gonna be impossible to miss It :)

    absolutely crackers :)

  5. Looks pretty hideous to me, hopefully the production model will be a bit easier on the eye.

    I'm waiting patiently for a new RC8...

  6. nice very nice

  7. I suspect that's a 2014 release, that's bound to be awesome

  8. Ooooooooohhhh yeah! I want one

  9. Radical man! I grew to love the road going KTMs after the RC8 cup, bet that's a hoot!

  10. Paint the wheels, stick some lights on it and where do I sign.

  11. I absolutely love this bike but..........ffs Mr. KTM, put some effin' padding on the seat. I won't buy one otherwise.

  12. I've had my SDR for just over 4 years (along with the Duc) & love it. 1290cc & 180bhp, that's on the nuttier side of lunacy.

  13. Its got two Akra's Damo, now that's going to to be very very loud.

  14. I know mate, it'll sound glorious :)

doubt very much the road steed will have this double pipe set up but I hope it does. If it has to lose one I think I'd still like it to have the under slung set up cos that rear frame work and single sided swing arm need to be kept open.

Seem to be reading conflicting reports from 150-180bhp but frankly either is likely to supply a huge dollop of torque making this a brilliant road going hooligan tool.

    i think it's brilliant :)

  15. Here you go Arthur & Drinky - have a bit of Akra :)

may i be the first to say Fk'ing hell fire......... now thats a hooligan tool.

yes i know its a Ducati forum but cmon, its a twin and a bloody angry one at that!

That's how you sell a bike right there!!!

Whack on TWO Akras and just let it rip :)
