Big Trip 2013 - Assen & Sachsenring MotoGPs

If you are going to the Sachsenring then book one night to stay at Colditz Castle Colditz: DJH Jugendherberge Colditz Schloss, Sachsen - Die Jugendherbergen.

A good base for the Sachsenring is the city of Chemnitz. I have been 3 times and stayed at the Achat Hotel ACHAT Hotels - ACHAT Comfort Hotel Messe-Chemnitz and also an Ibis Hotel in CHEMNITZ - Book your hotel ibis budget Chemnitz Sued West (ex ETAP HOTEL)

Tickets from Sachsenring - Motorsports and more Tickets for a Ducati Branded Stand were available from the circuit site. For parking at the circuit, find a car dealers called Autohaus Schmidt at the junction of Waldenburger Strasse and Am Sachsenring. They close for the period of the MotoGP and charge a couple of Euros to park there. It is bang opposite the main entrance to the circuit.

 

Groningen 20k from Assen is good with all the usual Dutch delights. Recomend Hotel Martini.

 

The bikers classic is the weekend after Assen at Spa, brilliant event and well worth the trip. I'll be there again

 

Did Assen and Mugello the following week last year, holland is flat and boring so don't waste too much time there other than the usual Dutch entertainment, as mentioned above Groningen is a great place to stay.

Google German travel routes, you'll probably find the castle, fairy tale, wine route amongst others I spent time making a route out of the 3, as you've got 2 weeks head to the ring maybe stuttgart to take in the obvious also.
