Ducati Uk Price Increases.

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Wrecked, Oct 22, 2016.

  1. Just been looking at an Aprilia forum and the talk there is that some Aprilia bike prices in the UK are to rise substantially. - e.g. Tuono Factory up from around £14,600 to £15,999.

I'm guessing Ducati will be doing something similar in the near future? So if you're considering a new bike soon, dither ye not!

  2. To be honest if Aprilia do that then they'll just put another nail in the coffin of next to bugger all sales, but I totally get their reasoning.

I'll be doing a deal in the next couple of weeks so should miss any rise

  7. Oh dear :-( that's a big shame, I think it's going to bring back the stack them high and sell them cheap merchants (George white style) where they buy a load of bikes in bulk and shift them cheap.

  8. yup. never goes back. i remember when they put VAT up to 20% it was just for a year or so. and we will never get it back to where it was now.

  9. As mentioned above. The prices have already gone up.

  10. Makes no difference. Even if somebody buys a load of bikes in bulk, they will still have to pay for them with £££ which have lost over 15% of their value so far. And worse to come, most likely.

  11. Oh most definitely going to get worse. Time to dump those pension schemes and buy metals. Don't join a pension scheme!

  12. Pound has lost a third of it's value against the yen in the last few months. Japanese bikes may go up even more.

  13. OYB have a brand new factory tuono for £1500 under list right now...whats the best they come a Citroen supplier, i.e. everything comes with 20% off new.

  14. @Exige had a couple so cant quite work this out, does this scenario make you collection more or less valuable?. :smileys:

  18. I make wooden furniture and most of my materials are imported. I've seen 8% increase in screws, staples and adhesives, and my plywood supplier to tells me to expect a 15% increase in the next few weeks. All of this has to be passed on to the customers. Expect inflation to go up and up.

On the upside my pension investments have increased by 25% in value since March. It looks like the fund managers are liking these extreme currency fluctuations.

  19. My wife is in IT sale for wholesale and distribution companies. They are seeing prices going up so are having to swallow the increase or pass on. Consequently none are buying IT systems.

My mate works in the city at a brokers, he has been busy busy busy with all the volatility.
