Just wondered how many of us are still riding their Ducati to work everyday? I was just one degree this morning at 0630 on my 15 mile commute and three degrees when I left off at 1800. The new heated grips on the 939SP are good, but probably not as good as my old BMW R1200GSA
Yeah still daily on my 1299. Contemplated getting something more sensible to run alongside it for the first time this year but probably won't .. genuinely can't be arsed with looking after another material thing in my life...
I'm still using the 1299 and like @Rosso I don't have much desire to use anything else. I like getting use out of stuff that I've bought too. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Yup, still commuting on the Monster. Today was the first morning with winter gloves and a fleece as well as a merino top this season, and I had the heated grips turned all the way up on the wet miserable ride home tonight. 4 degrees this morning but at least it wasn't foggy like earlier this week.
.....that's an interesting perspective.....maybe one that will become more prevalent.........have gone through similar process myself.......would love a brand spanking new Thruxton R but have concluded that the milliseconds of extra happiness are only fleeting in nature and not worth the cost. I'll stick with my 15 and 18 year old 1150R and 900ss for a while yet as they seem to grow in character with every mile that passes. Coincidentally,I'm on holiday at the moment and reading Homo Deus.......which has a lot of interesting things to say about happiness and th pursuit of material things - worth a read!
On my commute I come across a Monster, we use the same route around the same time. I am expecting to see him around January on the hard shoulder scratching his head probably wondering why his bike has just disintegrated.
Perth winters are pretty tame compared to the he U.K. (Especially the old Perth, I suspect!) - never snows and in 18 years I've only seen ice on the car windscreen once - but I try to ride to work if it's dry. Really don't enjoy getting wet. Summer can be unbearable sometimes with 40c days in traffic, even with a mesh summer jacket. Spring (now) can be lovely.
I commute once a week on my 1198, this week saw a 1299 on the Finchley Road and a Monster down by London Zoo. I remember thinking both riders looked warmer than me and i must get some new gloves.
