I really like it but have to say that the pipework and carbon guards make it look 'rear' heavy a bit like the older 848/1098/916, where as the early panigales look like they have tiny rear seats and an 'all on the front' look which I really like. I'm picking as it's lovely and either SL would be amazing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Beautiful looking bike, don't think I would be breaking down the door if I had a mk1 sl, I personally would not px a mk1 plus another 20k, but I am not in the financial to do so and I never will be.
If I had bundles of spare cash, I'd have one.... and an SL1.... and a Desmo....and a BSB spec/WSB spec Pani.... and.... and.... ....unfortunately I don't, and good luck to those that do. (As an aside, I'm always slightly amused at people who think those that can afford the real high end bikes are suddenly incapable of riding as quickly as anyone else.... I know plenty of guys with money that are quicker than me).
Really?! Its way to front heavy, even more so that the regular pani. IMHO it needs more body at the back, looks half finished. But I also hold the same view on the Pani generally
If I had £1m in the bank, I may well be tempted by this, as long as I already had the Porsche and Range Rover. But only because I could ride it. If it were investment or 'look at it' purposes, I'd rather spend similar on a genuine ex-WSBK or MotoGP bike And having met a few with some high end bikes, they fall into two camps: those who buy to show off and those who buy to enjoy. I must say, I rarely meet the first type
Thinking about it, I have only seen sl's and demo's on track days, so at least some are enjoying them, but surely as long as the owners enjoy the bike that's all that matters no matter how fast or slow they are.
I don't have £1m in the bank but I also have absolutely sod all interest in four-wheeled tin boxes, that's why I can afford to buy one. It'll be ridden, make no mistake and I'll ride her as fast as my limited abilities allow me. I've tried to be tempted by cars - I've had a few Porsche and Ferrari test drives but once I got over the initial excitement, I found them painfully dull and nowhere near the visceral experience you get on a bike. Two wheels rock !
Wow! They look very nice but totally impractical colour. Bit like wearing white jeans when you've got the shits! :Nailbiting:
Thanks but I think you'll agree that with my collection of Farah pants and Pringle jumpers I don't need any fashion tips!:Smug:
Ah, echoes of the 1970's - football managers in sheepskin coats, British Rail on strike and mullet haircuts.
I reckon it will be closer than you think. Followed one on road for a day, and it sounded more Desmo than Panigale, entirely different sound
Got me thinking, the Akra's are part of the race kit,i guess it must come with the standard euro 3 underslung pipes, looks like a fair bit of kit to swap them over, carbon belly pan blanks and heat shields, even the heel guard looks strange, looking forward to seeing one for real as most bikes always look better in the carbon so to speak.
Must admit my 1299 with Akra's sounds way different to my 899 with them, almost to loud but a addictive type of loud and the 1299 pops and bangs more, guess its because the 899 is set up better.
