Who's got Elefant Legs ?

  1. Hi All, the chrome on my 1996 'Fant fork legs is pretty scabby, and I have spotted these "CAGIVA ELEFANT ELEPHANT 750 FRONT FORKS SUSPENSION" on the Bay of E. Now - my lower legs have just the Elefant emblem cast-in, where these have 'Cagiva' cast-in. Rechroming the originals would cost around £150, but these are less than half of that, even if they need new seals etc. Will they fit my bike ? any comments most welcome !!

  2. For what bike? I have a pair of 600ss showa forks in good condition with spring kit in you can have for 80 quid.

  3. From memory, about half the women that used to shop in the "big ASDA" at Portrack in Stockton on Tees, about fifteen years ago

  4. I have both types Dave but never got round to comparing. If you don't have any luck on 'that other site' then I will measure in the morning. One thing for sure is that you will have to use the early caliper, disc and possibly wheel as they are all different.

  5. Cheers Guys, Cranker - the bike is a 1996 Cagiva Elefant, and I think that it has a 19" front wheel, which would exclude a few alternatives I suppose. Another point is keeping the bike is standard trim. Splicing on a different set of kit might spoil things, but if you have non-pitted 'Cast Elefant' set Chris I would be interested, cheers dp

  6. late 750 (like yours) are 46 mm, early (certainly looks like the pair on E-Bay) are 41.6 mm. An odd size but I checked twice (standard wheel is 21 inch). It's possible they would fit if you used the yokes etc - you could try asking on the Elefant Forum.
