Well, I've just got my '95 900ss frame and wheels back from powder coating (pics) and I'm chuffed to bits with them. It's definitely given me the motivation to get on with the build. I managed to get 5/6 of the cush drive inserts out intact using a home-made extractor based on excellent advice from this forum :sunglasses: Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for the one cush drive rubber that got mangled?

Ah yes, sorry I should have said - Stein Dinse show them as available but when I try to order I get a 'product not available' message. I've emailed them. You're right though, I may actually be able to get them from Moto Rapido....

Was thinking about how you get around an increased paint profile meaning bearings, Cush drives etc may not fit?
Thx. Need to get my wheels done, as the monkey twat who change my tyres (Stef from tyres r us, 20 yrs in tyres and says you should set pressures once cold in the morning and not adjust on Trackdays.....) scraped the shit out the rear wheel and chipped the front.
You need to remove everything from the wheels: tyres, valves, disks, sprocket carrier, cush drive rubbers, bearings. They blast the wheels (and frame) back to bare metal with very fine grit particles, then they plug all the threaded holes and blank off exposed surfaces that take bearings such as the headstock. Then spray with electrostatically charged powder to prime the item, bake at about 200 degrees C, clean up and spray with the top coat powder and bake again. Considering all the work required, and the quality of the finish, £40 plus VAT is very good value.
