1199 Ducati 899 - 959 - 1199 - 1299 Modifications - What Have You Done To Yours?

  1. You definitely don't want that on the brakes or tyres. Clean the tyre with soapy water and get some brake cleaner on the discs.

I use it on my lotus and works quite well but be aware that dirt does stick to it and will look manky after use.

It washes off and leaves a clean and protected surface underneath though.

I spray some in a pot and apply with a small brush to my wishbones, hubs, drive shafts, alluminium tub and any all nuts bolts fasteners I can see.

It does work but I tend to just use GT86 now as it's cheaper and crap doesn't stick to it but requires frequent application, which is part of my regular maintainable routine anyway

Acf50 is 'apply and forget' and lasts ages but does get dirty until washed off.

  2. You're kidding right? Keep it away from brakes and tyres and levers. It's slippery stuff.

  3. I wiped the levers and stuff that was fine. The brakes were ok and the tyres cleaned themselves after a few miles.

I didn't get any on the actual brake discs or pads I don't think.

  4. Replaced the high beam bulbs next time I just won't go riding at night [emoji35][IMG]

  6. Did an oil change after a couple of trackdays bikes at about 4000miles, is this a normal amount of filings on the sump plug?

Change was a breeze if anyone thinking about doing themselves IMG_3435.JPG

  11. You mean the hex bolt at the front?... just a normal hex key (3mm from memory).

  12. I don't know shit about these things it's called a t15 in my set.

  13. T(anything) is a Torx bit, which are a star shape. A 3mm hex is what you should be using for that bolt. However, if you find the torx that fits you won't do a lot of damage in this instance. Wait until you have to start using some of these on something if you want confusion...... IMG_9474.JPG

  14. Nope I will pay a man to do anything more complicated than changing a bulb or turning one screw.

  15. With you on that :tearsofjoy: however I'd order a few spares of those seat bolts. They are like cheese I found and I've rounded a couple off (probably through my own incompetence!)

  16. Plenty of rain and muck in Norfolk, trust me. Just lots of cleaning required. The 1199SPS is now in the process of being returned to standard en-route to a new owner. The 1299S that's replacing it is destined for far greater things, which will pan out on Project 1704

  17. Anyone else had to wait ages for a delivery from design corsa?
