From replies to date it seems that the engine will go straight in, as no one's mentioned otherwise, the talk has all been about how to make the wrong swingarm fit. Could you fit the S4RS swingarm to that engine instead, no effin about with bearings, transplanting internals from one to another etc.. or is that too obvious?
Hi pavey a 999 engine will go into the 748 998 frame . depending on which frame, you may have to chop the airbox about. I have done this , runs great , give me a message if you want any help. Cheers arle
To add to the above the 998 frame will allow a direct fit for a 999 engine and a 748R frame is the same frame only with the HT coil mountings welded in a different place. All other 748-9** frames will require modification.
Thanks gents but we have gone off piste a bit here. What I wanted to know is does the S4rs motor go into the 748/998 frame? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What frame do you have? You will find that the 998 would be best. You will need 998/999 inlet manifold and 998 tb's and airbox. You will still be stuffed with swingarm fitment. As the width of the cases are too big. You have options of machining cases as fe said. Or you will need to cut the lower frame mounts off to fhe swingarm. Then alter the frame shock position over if you plan on using s4rs swinger. You will also have issues fitting a standard exh system.
Thanks for the info. This was for @Chemist who was interested in my engine, seems like a load of work unfortunately.
If you are interested I might be persuaded to part with a 749s motor I have. It has been breathed on by Biggelaar special performance that will go straight in your frame. It has had a complete refresh and been gas flowed. Sure I have some paperwork floating around for it some where after being on there dyno. It used to be in my track bike but I got it refreshed as above used it once found a 999s motor and swapped it out.
