  2. it's hard to tell from that pic but I think its a bip with a pillion seat cover on.

  3.
  4. BP subframe as has bolt holes for rear pegs

  6. Has them - ali pegs but not Fitted

  7. Looks like a bip to me. You can see pillion footrest mounts.

  8. Cheers All - easy to get logbook right?

  9. Does it matter? If everything else is good, ie service history, condition and your happy with the price I would buy it. Bip or mono would make no difference to me.

  10. Yes it's easy to get the log book changed, you need a letter from Ducati to state what model it was when it was first registered. Send this away to the DVLA with a cover letter and it will take about 4 weeks. I had the same issue with my 999. Logbook stated it was a BIP when it was actually a MONO. The main reason I had the logbook changed was because when it came to issure it everyone said they had to believe the log book so it was issured as a Biposta for some time. Not a problem I suppose until you want to claim and they try and be awkward for false declaration.

  11. seems you got the best of both worlds there mate,, bi sub frame which would norm cost a few quid with mono seat fitted

  12. Can you take a close look as the rear sub frame darker shade of grey - do you thibk its a mono converted to bip?

    Just want one totally original....

  13. Send engine and frame number to Ducati and they will tell you what it left Italy as.

  14. Spike,,, as everyone has said, if the subframe has pillion peg mount holes then it is a Bi,, if not it is a mono,,,,,,,,, unless someone has changed things along the way,,, maybe best thing to do is if you want to match the log book then fit the subframe / seat to suit...

  15. the rear frame is a bip with the pegs taken and the seat taken out and a seat cowel in place of it also they will be a key lock on the right side which is not on a mono a seat will go straight back on with the lock a mono frame is shorter than a bip f you look at the frame on the 749 that is a bip same as your thinking of buying look at the Xerox frame that's a mono see 43184d1233930692-749-mono-subframes-subframes.jpg IMG_0162.JPG DSC03005.JPG the difference

  17. First post states Ducati say it is a BIP - I don't think the seller would be lying as a mono would be worth circa £1k more :)

  18. does the OP want the bike to match the log book,, or the log book to match the bike,,,,,,easier to get the bike to match the log book,,, a bi subframe and seat will cost about 200 / 250 £ in perfect condition,, done deal..

  19. Is the Mono deffo worth £1k more than a Bip? If so I may get the proper sub frame for mine as that is all it is missing.
