Chaps, before I go butchering can anyone tell me exactly where the cat is in the collector box please.
I believe, if the site search function is up to it, someone posted pictures of a disected pre DVT CAT which should look similar. Again if my memory isn't letting me down, a cut around the periphery on the weld line gives you the best chance of reassembly. Andy
Yeah seen that, but the collectors are diferrent. I'm trying not to cut too much out to get at it. I'm thinking more a hole @4" ish might be enough to get in there in the right spot. I'm just a bit bored with the long dark nights really and need something to break
Of the multistrada's owners that I've seen take the cat out, they had to slice the large exhaust in half.
According to the service manual it is the whole box, see pic, number 3. The exhaust system consists of the following parts: 1 Horizontal primary pipe 2 Vertical primary pipe 3 Catalytic converter.
