  1. No brainer!

  2. Haha, at the moment, but you knew that didn't you

  3. Not sure on litre bike prices, but the only one (excluding Pani and S1000RR) that turns my head and sounds gorgeous is the R1M... in anniversary Yellow...

  4. Problem with buying a road bike for the track, is you'll soon end up wanting the little bits and bobs for it to make it a proper track bike, and not a soft road bike acting as a track bike
For £15k, you could buy a real well sorted track bike, or your budget will soon disappear when you start making the S1K a track ready tool.
    As a fag packet list;
Shock and Fork kit - £2.5k
    Track Fairings - £600
Brake lines and Pads (if you don't want better discs, M/C and Calipers) - £200
    Tyres - £400
    Rear Sets - £400
    Clip ons etc - £200
    Sprockets, Chain etc £150

There's lots about for £15k that is hardly abused, and ready to go
Either that, or R1M's are coming down to that sort of cash, and that's pretty much sorted straight from the box and you'd get the cost of track fairing's for the road kit (or hang onto it for when you come to sell)

My bike owe's me best part of £15k now, and there's no way I'd get a road bike that compares to it for that cash

    I'd hate to think what the spec of my bike would cost if I'd upgraded everything at once from new;
    OHLINS 30MM FORK INTERNAL KIT,

    OHLINS TTX REAR SHOCK,

    BST CARBON WHEELS

    FULL ARROW RACE EXHAUST SYSTEM,

BREMBO M4 RACING CALIPERS WITH BREMBO FLOATING HPK DISCS AND D/C PADS,

    BREMBO M/C,

    FLASHED ECU,

    TRANSLOGIC QUICKSHIFTER,

    LIGHTECH REAR SETS,

LIGHTECH CLUTCH LEVER AND BRAKE GUARD,

    CARBON FRAME COVERS,

    CRC RACE CLOCK BRACKET,

OHLIN STEERING DAMPER - REVALVED BY JH RACING,

    DOMINO QUICK ACTION THROTTLE,

    LIGHTECH CHAIN ADJUSTERS,

    WOODCRAFT ENGINE COVERS

    RENTHAL RACING CLIPS ONS,

    CRC RACE FAIRINGS,

    RENTHAL 520 RACE CHAIN CONVERSION,
    RENTHAL / AFAN SPROCKETS

    RED SILICONE HOSES,

    GB RACING SHARK FINN,

    GB RACING PADDOCK STAND BOBBINS

    HEL BRAIDED LINES,

    CAPTIVE SPACERS,

    SUPERBIKE SWITCH GEAR,

  5. Won't pass Brands noise test and in need of a full refresh as it's in the condition it finished the IOM superstock race 3 years ago so needs £2 to £3 grand throwing at it. Hugely awesome bit of kit sadly only suited to noisy days at Silverstone and European teacks unless you are prepared to neuter it and fit a compliant exhaust with subsequent remap. The carspecialists in Sheffield are not known for competative pricing so it's probably overpriced as well. Andy

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  6. Not sure about noise testing, as my bike has a full Arrow system, and still passes noise testing at most tracks (even Outlon if I put the baffle in)
That JH bike isn't a great spec for the money. That's a £10k bike with a £5k addition of it being ridden at the IOM
I agree about the refresh though, and that won't be cheap

  7. I saw on every of those a couple of times in real life and the colour is lovely.

  8. Looking at what the s1000rr with hutchy does round the island, why would you want anything else,or there the ex Kiyo bsb bike on eBay.

  9. What works there, and for Hutchy doesn't exactly work everywhere and everyone ese. They're not exactly dominating BSB, WBSK etc.
With the current Litre bike crop - S1000rr, 1299, RSV4, ZX10R, GSXR, Blade, R1 etc, it's really a case of riding a few and see which fits you best, and what you want in terms of electronic packages

  10. Some great chat in here

    Thanks!

  11. How's the shortlist looking ?

  12. Not thought about it a great deal today mate had a absolutely bastard of a migraine.

Thing is I can get the BMW so bloody cheap lol! But I've enquiried about a zx10r also so far

  13. Right so I've been out and about with the missus today having a look.

R1 is a definite no, the deals on them are shite, nobody has one I can test ride. I have a mate with a r1m who's spent a fortune on it and says they're overrated. To be honest I've heard this a fair bit now.

Zx10 I'm test riding tomorrow, to my memory I think this will be the first time I've ever ridden a kwak since passsing my test on a er6.

BMW still very much in the running.

Also had Daytona 675 thrown in the mix however I think I'll find it too slow.

  14. For the money you could get an 1199s. Quite a handy weapon... worth a ride at least.

  15. Are you looking at used track/race bikes ?
You'll get so much more bike for your money, and you won't need to spend more as you would with a new road bike
