Took to 2 local garages who were not interested but knew engineering guys. Managed to speak to one and he seemed to be totally on the ball. Hopefully drop it in next week.
But you thought a heli coil would be a different size??? :confuse: :Writing: he would have been full of confidence :Angelic::smileys:
If the hole is too far out of round for a helicoil. There is a couple of other options. Wurth do a thread repair called "time sert" which I've used before. And if the hole a long way out of round there's the "key insert option" I wouldn't loctite a helicoil in. I can send you a couple of self locking helicoils and a key insert or two if you get stuck.
Wheel fixed, local engineering old bloke did for £20. That's 50p for the Helicoil and £19.50 for knowing hoe to whack in a Helicoil. Quits happily do my own next time, good to see it once though. He locked it in with green thread lock too. Now to get tyres removed and on to the Powder Coaters..........
I never doubted the Helicoil, just my ability to fit one in an ovalized hole. Thank you all for being right once again.
