1200 DVT Replace Oe Hand Guards With Bark Busters

Bark busters work on the old bikes (I have them) but not sure about the new ones, I think there is too much stuff on the bars to allow the fixings to go on?

They really should have 'built-in' proper protectors imvho? Last year, I dropped mine where it ended with the bars lower than the wheels (not quite upside down!) and all I got was a scratch on the mirror housing, a scratch on the Bark Buster and a scuff on my Ortlieb bag - saved me about a £grand?

 

I used to do enduro's on a KTM, and I fitted plastic OE bark busters to it. Had loads of off's, on rocks, fast enough to bust ribs a couple of times, twated numerous trees, and the guards did their job really well, protecting the levers and my pinkies. They survived so well that in fact I sold them to a mate some years later. So why can't Ducati make (sorry, have made and fit) decent hand guards, especially if their going to use them as a part of the brake and clutch set up.
If anyone does find a set that'll fit the DVT please let us know.

You need some knobbly tyres and maybe a snorkel

Make sure you have a 3/4inch 12-point 36mm socket also for the rear nut.

 

Damn just noticed you've added the performance indicators in a nice position. Looking forward to a trip report once you back & a little perusal of the bikes tricked up bits.
