Because the Navihalter shop is closed for now, I'm thinking of making the mount myself, or something that works the same. Does anyone have any dimensions or measurements for the Navihalter mount for the 2016 Multistrada? Thanks.
Hi Martjin, I'm sure someone will pitch in soon with all the info and dimensions you need soon enough, I'm going to ask if and when you do get it ...... any chance you could make 2 and sell me 1. It would be most appreciated as someone screwed me for one and then snells sold the 3 they had in stock that same weekend, if he told me 2 days earlier I could and would have bought 1 off snells and I would now be giving you all the sizes and dimensions you now need cheers Dave
Why don't you contact uk dealers & see if they have one in stock. They could most likely arrange for it too be posted over to you.
That would be great. I'm from the netherlands, so not really familiar with the English shops. Do you have websites? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Check the navihalter threads, contact a dealer by phone & buy it. If they are unwilling to post it, someone on here will do it for you I'm sure. You'd just have that as an extra cost. It's such a popular product many dealers brought them in bulk so they'd be able to offer customers who wanted one a mount/gps fitting service option.
Not being a killjoy but isn't there a copyright on these by Navihalter? Its not the manufacturers fault he's been in an accident, if you are that desperate for a nav mount why not use a RAM mount until the guy starts manufacturing again and then buy one of his, rather than take his livelihood from him.
That's a good question. The best option for me would be to buy it from him. And I really hope he gets better so I can do that. But there is no other mount available to get the navigation above the dashboard. So if he's not back in business around March, then I would like to try and create something that works like this mount. Or at least gets me to mount my navigation like I can with the navihalter. I don't want to mount it with a ram mount on my handlebars. Did that with my Diavel and still have a black imprint on the bars. So I really hope he gets better. For him of course and for me so i can just buy a much better mount then I can create. But for the time being, a man needs a hobby Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
I just found this GPS mount. EnGi moto accessori | Ducati Multistrada 1200 my 2015/2016 It's not as pretty as the navihalter, but it could work. Does anyone have any experience with this mount? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
I made something similar to the navhalter just by measuring where it needs to sit and made a paper template. Used some 3mm Ali, saw, file and a black and decker workmate ended up with a suitable mount, not perfect but works. I ended up using version 3 with version 2 given to a friend. I think I still have the paper template somewhere!
Nice work. What is the last carbon image? It's different in shape compared to the aluminum one. I'd the carbon one number three? Do you have that paper template on scale? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
The Ali one was version 2 but works. Wanted it to extend further than it did hence the additional pieces. I have since read that people are buying plastic extenders for the same issue. The carbon wrapped one now extends further and only two piece. It allows easy use of the screen adjuster. It's not perfect but works great and only real cost was a few hours tinkering in the garage. I do have the template somewhere but need to look for it. It is to scale as the paper was placed over the area and you rub over the edges to get the basic lines you need, the rest is trial and error.
Would be great to have the template. Fun winter project. And if it fails I can always buy one. The carbon one looks great. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Fitted the engimoto sat nav mount and I'm more than satisfied, probably a little bit more fiddly to get everything as you want it compared to Navihalter mount but as none are available at the min I needed something else that allows the sat nav to sit above the clocks. Price is good as was customer service, I asked for a discount if I ordered 2 (1 for a mate) and the offered me free postage, so unit worked out at £67.50 and received it within 2 days
