Is it just me, or does he remind you of the old Iraqi propoganda minister, Muhammad Saeed al-Sahhaf, better known as Comical Ali? :Hilarious:
£122bn hole in the UK public finances over the next 5 years predicted by the Tory government. Who would have think that a Tory government might be the one to bankrupt the Nation. :tearsofjoy:
If £122 billion scares you, don't look at these Labour pledges national investment bank to mobilise £500bn | Politics | The Guardian Jeremy Corbyn to pledge £500bn of spending in leadership speech | Politics | The Guardian
Used to fund investment in a Nation that has had its infrastructure (outside London) ignored for many years would be a good investment. Seems to have worked well in Germany. Much of public services in this Country are falling apart at the seams due to no money. Unless that is reversed fairly quickly there will be nothing left.
Interesting development this morning. Martin Schulz. President of the European Parliament has today announced he's leaving the EU project to return back to German politics. He won't say if it is to challenge Merkel in Germany's elections next year. Either he's see's this as an ideal opportunity to get Merkel out or, he knows something that we don't know about what will happen to the EU project during the negotiations and the ripples from it. It's been quite well known that Junkers would have been fired before now had he not had Schulz protecting him. The rats nest that is about to be disturbed in so many ways that it will be interesting to watch as they all position themselves for new jobs.
"A rat leaving a sinking ship", is the first thought that came into my mind. Won't be surprised if there is a bit of a rush towards the exit : there are not many positions available for the "professional", mouthpiece-without-principles,and the way things are going there will be even less. The losers won't starve of course, the taxpayer will be paying for all those lovely golden pensions and gratuities.
Calm down, dear. So after completing two full terms as President (Speaker) of Parliament, and after being an MEP since 1994, Martin Schulz has decided to resume national politics in his home country in 2017, where he may stand some chance of becoming Chancellor. This is not earth-shattering news. It is about the career path of one bloke. It does not tell us anything in particular about the EU generally or any of its institutions. No need for hysterical over-reactions.
This is why there will be a deal of one sort or another ... Germany needs post-Brexit EU trade deal with Britain to minimise own economy fallout, minister warns
So today we've had the Malta's Prime Minister having his go EU leaders 'not bluffing' over Brexit terms, warns Malta's PM - BBC News (state the obvious pal....whoever you are) And then the mess that is Turkey starting to play dirty. So only one of two outcomes here I feel Either millions of Turkish citizens 'legally' flowing throughout the EU countries, or Millions of illegal immigrants being encouraged to do so. Either way, millions of additional people entering Europe whether member states like it or not. Migrant crisis: Turkey threatens EU with new surge - BBC News Now that's a mess with no decent outcome.
whats the pannick ?,, i distinctly remember the tory pig herder Cameron stating that Turkey will never be joining the EU,, twas a major issue in the pre brex discussions,, surely he was not lying, a good tory blue boy that the english voted into parliament , or was that just more fudge and lies from the ruling political elite.
No. Turkey does deals with the EU, the EU states that Turkey can do this without having to accept free movement, but Turkey is not a member of the EU. Hmm ...
President Erdogan has the EU by the balls and he knows it as does the EU but not in a way he had, say 12 months before. He knows after Brexit, After trump, the results are swinging anti establishment. He knows many European countries have elections next year but the two he is concentrating on is Germany and France. He knows if he opens the gates and say's off you go to millions more migrants to flood those countries, then that could not only end the EU but the careers of many European senior politicians and Hollande and Merkel would likely be the first two to go. A bit of me also wonders if the EU army is being created because they fear Turkey with Russia's help will turn on the EU despite all being Nato Countries?
