No I'm not going to the otherside my love for Ducati is far too strong Any issues to look for What do you think about them What sort of price Paint scheme Rossi blue and White Thanks guys and gals
Thanks for link Steve forums are covered. Looking for personal experiences too from guys and gals on here. Saw your bike on Facebook very nice
I had 1 for about 4 weeks but it wasn't for me, they're pretty tall bikes so make sure your ok with that. i had intended to just track mine but I found I missed the power of a thou so I sold it then bought another R1 good though,,razor handling and very good looking
Erm...... Nah, not really I wouldn't of thought. theyre set up stiff which is great if your on track but obviously harsh for road duties and they're extremely gutless low down in the rev range so you need to scream them everywhere, again great on track but on the road you need better torque. dont get me wrong, the 2006-2012 R6's are very accomplished bikes but far better on track than they are on the road IMO and there are better road going 600's (zx6r/cbr600) with all that said if the person wants to buy one then I'm sure they'll love it, I'm just not sure what type of rider they are
Thanks for the info damo When you say scream it what do you mean by that? So would the R1 be better for road riding? and for a new rider. Rider to be hasn't passed test yet so don't know what type.
To get the best from an R6 takes a lot of commitment regards braking/cornering, so a new rider will probably go faster on a Fazer 600 ...... same thing with CB600 - many find they can enjoy the 'F' model better on the road than the 'RR' model. As for having an R1 (or any litre sports, really) as a first road bike after passing test! .....ermmm, only if you don't like the person much and want them to crash it! That's a lot of engine/chassis for a novice to use properly Said for many years that 600/620 Ducs are perfect first big bikes, but wish SV650 had been around when I first started...... rough build quality but otherwise brilliant way to learn why (IMHO) twins are better for road use than IL4's! Big factor to consider - have they tried to get an insurance quote for an R1? If they've only just passed their test, it'll probably be more than the bike costs!
