I take the seat off and put a strap either side of the bracket on the subframe to hooks either side of the van. I also use one of the rear wheel sling/straps you can get. seems to be a bit of a pain for all of us using trailers or vans then, I managed to dig out an old strap I have had for a few years that goes over the bars, but I have seen them damage the switch gear and throttle assembly so im not too keen on that. I just ordered a strap that goes over the rear wheel, ill see how I get on with that in the new year. its a shame the Sato brackets don't fit the 1299 as that would be an ideal, abet expensive, option
The sato is only sold for the 1199 I thought as the exhaust mounting is slightly different and the heat shield comes further back covering the rear footrest threaded points
I'm that height and have actually found it pretty comfy, it's just used for track now but did commute on it and did a 4 day tour up in Wales long hours and was no problem at all, I do make a point of trying to stay relatively fit and flexible which I guess helps a bit
There is less room, but still looks to Be enough room to fit. I'll let you know when I buy one in the new year.
Jolley, Good man, I await your results then I have the full Akra system to go on during the first service so in not sure if its slightly longer, but time will tell I guess.
