And that is what percentage of the electorate? Waaaa-ai-ait a minute. You let your bairns vote in the failed Independence bid but only if they were 16 or 17? Why weren't 13 and 14 year-olds allowed to vote? What kind of ageist "society" you trying to run up there? Madness. I tell you, calling them "Wildlings" simply does not do them justice
here. check it for your self Independence referendum figures revealed: Majority of Scots born here voted YES while voters from elsewhere in UK said NO - Daily Record
I asked you a specific set of questions that you were meant to answer. Your interpretation of "blind obedience" leaves much to be desired
Hmm ... couldn't you have arranged for a selection process to determine what kind of Scottish folk were allowed to vote? I'm sure you would have gotten the desired result if the criteria were carefully chosen.
you are aware loz, if past experience is anything to go by there is a head of steam brewing in the background that makes our perceived anger look like a giggle in comparison
No, finm. *I* bark the orders here. Ah. Now you're using the old noodle! See how it's done when it's done right? Tell me about it. I cannot imagine just how cross Glidd will be when he discovers we've been talking Scottish nonsense in the Brexit thread.
and now that i am in the mood this man speaks for me. Can Scotland get a special Brexit deal? Can Boris Johnson survive the Brexit process without pissing off a major European country? Can the adolescent supporters of the alt-right ever actually get laid, and will they ever realise that masturbating in front of internet photos of Pepe the Frog doesn’t really count as a sexual encounter? Can Tory MSP Adam Tomkins get through an entire week without Tweeting anything else as stupid as his thought that companies shouldn’t pay tax because they don’t get a vote? Anyway, while he was in Edinburgh Phil was asked whether Scotland could get a special Brexit deal, and he replied that it wasn’t realistic. It’s not realistic for Scotland to expect to get the same treatment as the City of London or Japanese car manufacturers. It’s not realistic for Scotland to imagine that it can remain a part of the European single market after the rest of the UK has left. However shortly after he said this he told representatives of the Scottish government that all proposals would be considered, although presumably what he meant by this was that the Tory government would consider all proposals then consider that it had already ruled them out and refuse to consider them further. The British government is playing a high risk game. They might not have the foggiest idea about what they want from Europe, but they’re very clear about what they want from Scotland. They want our natural resources. They want us as a reservoir of skilled labour. They want us as a place to site their nuclear viagra. They want our obedience and acquiescence. They want us to shut up and do as we are told. They want a tame Scotland that doesn’t rock the British ship of state as it sinks majestically to the bottom of the ocean. They’re playing a high risk game because they want everything, and if they can’t have everything they’ll risk having nothing. They’d rather run the risk of losing Scotland for good than fulfil the promises and commitments that they made to the voters of this country during the last independence referendum campaign. Because if they’d kept their word then we wouldn’t be here now. The way that they’re behaving now tells us that they never had the slightest interest in doing what they promised Scotland that they would, that Britain is a sham state built on lies and deceit. this man doesn't .
I just worked it out, finm. You and I are natural allies in the face of Westminster indifference on the one hand and oppression on the other. We here have jumping up and down for years for a proper By-Pass around our nation's capital, Chichester. The current By-Pass is unfit for purpose, punctuated as it is by roundabouts and traffic lights, all of which contribute to regular traffic jams at rush hour. Our great natural resource, which some people refer to as The Goodwood Festival of Speed (but which I call "that fucking useless waste of time and energy that occurs every June") provides for the generation of a great deal of wealth for one of our less privileged families (The Duke of Richmond & Gordon - not a ventriloquist act, I shit you not, but some local knob) which is nice for them because, I mean, have you seen how *old* their home is, such a shame. Anyway. Every year we ask Westminster to alleviate our suffering and fund the Chichester By-Pass and every year, Westminster says no. So what I wish to ask, finm, is with the benefit of hindsight and experience gleaned from you own botched attempt, is there any advice you can give me that will help West Sussex achieve independence from the rest of the UK (especially from the Scottish, who are noisy, ungrateful and always on the scrounge). Thanks!
I've been very slow here and for that I apologise, I hadn't seen the Jockulation of this thread. When Andy Murray used to lose, some English said, that Scotsman lost. When he won it was, a British player had won, Some Scots said that summed up the English but then the penny dropped. Far from the English doing this in sport and the Scots being the victims, some Scots have been doing this all along with politics. The U.K. government is the U.K. government when the Scots get what they want but when they don't, the very same government is then called the Tory English government. The EU recently showed with krankie, they do not negotiate with the B teams, they deal with National governments, not devolved ones. No matter how much they teeth grind and gurn and no matter what they achieve or hope to achieve, to change that would have to have the agreement of the whole of the EU council and that will never happen
