Hello All!

  1. Hi all
I'm a 1200 Multistrada owner from Derbyshire. My third Ducati (previous was a MTS1000DS, and before that a 600 Monster). I'm also on a couple of other forums (Multistrada.net and UKMonster), though not very active. I've recently rebuilt a couple of oldish 80s/90s Yamaha 2-stroke trailies, and enjoyed the experience. Was looking around for a new project and a friend has offered me a 900ss half-faired for a very good price. Drawback being that it's got a couple of snapped head studs and is in bits. Hahaha....
Just joined to see what wisdom there is on the forum about the 900ss in general, snapped cylinder heads in particular, and maybe some thoughts on paint.
    Cheers all.
    James

  2. Welcome Derbyshire Dave :)

  3. hello and welcome dude. Get some pics up mate, we love pics

  4. Thanks all (and who's Dave, El Toro?!)
What sort of pictures are you after chizel? ;-)
I have a few of the prospective 900ss, but only what my mate has sent me from his garage. I've verbally agreed to buy it and will pick it up after Christmas. Got to clear some space out of the ManCave first...
Will start a separate thread on that under SuperSport I think, lots of questions there...

  5. Meantime, here's my current Multi at Matlock Bath a few weeks ago! :)

  6. cool... Any pics are good, I don't like reading. I have a 900ss myself, brilliant bikes

  7. Excellent Exige, exactly what I need I think? Or will need, when I get my hands on it. And get the two snapped studs out of the head. Which might be harder than it looks. That's a price for a pack of 8, right? Two have snapped but I'm guessing it would make sense to change them all, while the engine's out?

  8. Yes for 8 (only sell in 8's) not wise to replace individually and with differing tensile strengths.

  9. Cool. Will be in touch. Presumably eBay is your favoured channel or better to go direct? I might need other bits and pieces, not sure yet though.
    Thanks

  10. Looking forward to getting my hands on it when I do. More character in the older airheads than the new watercooled bikes, however good they are.

  11. Through the forum if you subscribe, only costs £5 a year to do so :)
