Ducati Knobber

  1. Hi everyone, I am currently deciding on a new track bike for 2017, last one was a BMW S1000RR which was a beast but dare I say it...too German, ie it was faultless but took the fun away a little as it did everything for me!

Its looking like a 959 as I want something that I can ride hard rather than a 1299 which I will ride like a pansy and crap myself. I think the new R1, BMW 1000RR and 1299 Pani are just supreme bikes for track but you need to be a bit of a legend to ride them properly - and I am not!

Road bike / commuter is a Ducati Scrambler Italia Independent which I must admit has really blown me away at what I can do on it. Also that V twin firing up in the morning....just amaze!

Anyway speak to you all soon no doubt.

  2. Welcome Knobber ;)

Great choice. Have gone back from a IL4 1000 myself and will be looking for an 899 next season as its so much more fun to rag to hell out of a bike than the bike run you ragged !! :)

  3. welcome Dave

  4. Thanks Bradders and El Toro...and who is Dave? Haha

  5. Welcome on board young fella (you will find the age demographic a bit higher than most other biking forums). Dave is the stock "only fools n horses" line from ElT. also covers up his Alzheimer's ;-)

If I had a set of cajones to start with and plucked the courage to go on a track, then I would go with yours and Bradders' logic, too.

  6. Well you choose a brand semi assured of problems! Let the fun begin, welcome

  17. @CJP15 here you go. Nothing better maintained out there and if you want something ready to go to the track not sure you could do better. No idea of he's 'flexible ' on the price. Best to ask him :)

  18. Wow that is a seriously tempting bike....am not looking to buy until a few months but that spec is indeed food for thought. Thanks for the link...

  19. I've seen a few tri options bikes for sale over the last few weeks

Be careful though as some have been robbed of all their Gucci bits and had standard items put back on!
