I have brake fluid splatters on the inside of my 748 screen, above the reservoir. Cleaned of the residue last week but has reappeared!! Signs of fluid around the base of the reservoir but apart from screen splatter, no where else!!! Anyone else had this??
has to be one of the following C.D. (by the way, have you changed front pads recently?) :- either fluid is too high in reservoir (but i'm guessing you've checked for this) or the circuit balance relief hole in the master cylinder and/or the breather in the cap are partially blocked. The only other option is if one of the calipers is running hot from partially binding pistons etc causing the fluid to rise higher than normal.
The other thing to check is the condition of he brake line from the reservoir to the Master cylinder....they can "sweat" tiny droplets of brake fluid which then get spattered on the inside of the screen......
Thanks for the response guys Ripped off the front nose & checked line from reservoir to master cylinder........found a rather loose banjo bolt with weeping fluid!!!! Cheers Dave....shouldn't have needed a thread on here to work that 1 out eh
Is it me reading this wrong or.... I'm guessing you mean the top banjo on the hose from the master cylinder to the calliper. The hose from the reservoir to the master cylinder should just secured with crappy spring clips. Anth
At the end of the day if you are sure then you are sure and if you're not then maybe you need convincing. It's always better to be sure than need convincing in my mind!!
I used to be unsure until I was convinced I was indecisive, but now, I'm just not sure anymore, I can't decide ... I'll think about it until I'm sure, I think
