Quick French raid - very quiet everything seems expensive even forgetting the exchange rate - wines still cheap though
Today, I have mostly been promoting my book online. This is grim. I thought part of the point of writing was that you didn't have to do all this stuff. I really don't want to be hassling people and telling them to spend time reading what I have written. But there you go. It's all part and parcel of the gig, apparently. Written posts and what not. Tomorrow another marketing email will go out, sadly. I've even had to get involved with Goodreads. Anyone a member? (I wasn't).
When I go to France I stock up on wines costing about €5. The quality is amazing if you choose well. Tonight I had a Château Beycheville 2003 claret which was very nice. But considering what it cost (can't remember but more than a bit) and the fact that I have kept it in my cave for a decade, it's poor value compared to some of the €5 Côte du Rhônes. You don't get what you pay for in wine, more's the pity. Although if you look at it another way, it's really good news.
I'm sure I've seen that guy on the left before :Bookworm: yep its @finm , you didn't say you were venturing into Engurland me old Scottish missed Now where's that photo.........
@gliddofglood whats to dislike, loads of like minded folks on all manner of bikes doing something for underprivileged children?
Mis-click I reckon. Glidd lives in Switzerland. He'll like going out in appalling weather in silly clothing.
Went to Cambs for the weekend, seemed to have brought a cold back with me. Oh well I've not got stacks on this week but still need to get some things finished before I get moaned at. I hope the sore throat goes by Wednesday, a few meetings this week. Lemsip and dunes today, will be avoiding phone calls.... I guess I've been lucky this year really.
Work work and more work You would think it was Christmas the amount of shopping being done And it's raining I can feel another car wash and polish on its way
Thats interesting, i have some Beychevelle from 1994/97/99/2000 and 2001 from the good old days of day trips for £1, and also when i picked some up after visiting said chateau. Are you suggesting its now for only for coq au vin....? albeit quite good coq.....
Wished all my workmates a "Merry Xmas". I know it's early, but I suffer from premature congratulation (or so the wife says)
Thought I'd better fit the new belts I bought a while back before they perish didn't go Exactly to plan
