999 999r Fuel Tank Size?

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by nzr, Dec 17, 2016.

  1. Hi All

Just looking for some insight here. I just purchased an 999r, I have noticed the 999R has a smaller fuel tank than my 749R

Is this normal or do I need to start hunting for a larger tank?

    cheers

  2. That's normal. As far as I know, only the 749R had the larger tank as standard. Homologation rules, or somesuch.

  3. Yup, 17 litre from memory. I stuck with mine. I thought the bigger tank spoiled the lines a bit.

  4. sweet, cheers for that

  5. i have to agree, it looks a bit sharper

  6. And a great choice of bike btw. Enjoy!

  11. Hugger? Not something im familiar with sorry

  12. Overated. Don't worry about it. Not got one on mine now either.

  13. keeps the road shit off your shock .

  14. I see. Your talking about a rear guard. I don't find it necessary as I give the kids pocket money for cleaning the bike
