Just dragged myself out to the pool in a pea-souper. Big fog at night is quite challenging on these twisty country roads. There are no cats-eyes here and viz is about from one post on the side of the road to the next. Corners are interesting as the post you thought was on the left sometimes turns out to be the one on the right. You can tell how much I wanted to go to the pool. It's been open all weekend. I arrived at 6.15 and it's everyone out at 6.45. I'm being quite lazy these days, only doing 800m and that's easily enough time for that. Still, you feel all marvellous and virtuous once you've done it.
Went out on the hyper to test my interphone thingy with my phone, and new lid (music streaming) - the stock speakers are pretty shit so going to order the upgraded speaker pack for it. As the speakers are stuck to the side of the helmet (I always wear my earbuds no matter what) I must confess I was sitting in traffic and did think when I pulled away "fucking hell, that's pretty fucking noisy...!" but a nice noisy....well, it was to me anyway...
Had to finish off some Christmas shopping, but instead of taking the car, I got wrapped up and had a 4 hour round trip walk to the retail centre. I must be getting old, because I then had a 2 hour nap on the sofa once I got home.

Having just completed a belt change & valve shim check of my own. My twopence worth would be, if a belt was a tooth out either way, it would be immediately apparent on start up. The fact that it started and was presumably running sweetly would make me suspect that one of the tension idlers was not torqued up properly and slackened off. Then as the engine was put under load it allowed the belt to jump a tooth or two resulting in mess that the photos portray. The noise must have been sickening! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Meeting at 10am, one I put off from last week, can't move it twice and not at short notice, kept thinking.. I will be ok nearer the time... roughly 6 hours sleep this whole weekend, 12am or later last night to 3am this morn and that's good. Have worked out if I the tabs really early they ware off later, but the if I take them early I'm away with the fairies a bit and sweat like a junkie. Don't know if I go with the dark eyes or make up look... if first impressions count. Not sure they gave me the right ones do look a bit odd... Image from google images not my own
I bought a Honda with no VTEC, the turbo makes up for it. (2.2 Diesel) Much as I liked the old BMW it needed a lot of money spending on it soon for a clutch and flywheel, and the gearbox could have done with a refurb after already spending near £4K in the last year on a 14 year old car, £6800 for this including a 3 year warranty and service plan seemed a better idea. Just updated the insurance and got some money back, just enough to cover the admin fee, strange that. And now to ring sky, then off to pick up some powder coating, it's a get stuff done kinda day off.
Discovered why my PC has been challenging this last week, bios 3v battery only had 0.2v in it. Still gives me the opportunity to have a coffee and a toastie in my local Sainsbury's. Andy

Been tied up all day (most if it anyway) with the company's insurance company trying to second guess scenarios to insure for next year. Trouble is I can't remember where I put my crystal ball :confuse:
