  1. Are you asking or confirming it is? :)

  2. Is he acting in an official capacity, or as a greedy shyster trading on his employer's name?

The asking price has doubled - why?
    The bike's been raced/tracked - why?
The bodywork has been changed - why?
The engine's been changed - why?
There's a general lack of clarity - why?
The bike remains unsold even at half the price asked now - why?

You need to get through the obfuscation, dispel the assumptions and demand facts with evidence, not tales

If a bike raises so many questions you'll need to be very satisfied with all of the answers if you decide to invest in the hope of seeing a return in time to come - a return not evident to date.

  3. Apart from hes talking bollox in his speel . Every year 999R started at no. 1 you couldnt possibly have a number of 569 when there were only 310 in that year, his numbers . its also not a face lift model or it has the wrong top fairing .

" Of this Model Year (technically defined by Ducati as 2004 restyling) only 310 units produced worldwide.
This bike is #569 since numbers of all Rs are progressive from the first model to the very last in 2006
(therefore no same-number Rs are possible, beware of replicas or fakes!).
The whole production of all 999R counts 2379 examples "

  4. Don't mean to be rude but if 382 were made in 2003 and 310 in 2004 with numbers being progressive then in 2004 the numbers would have been from 311-692 so #569 would make sense... looks like a lovely bike mind... anyone on here going for it?

  5. Doesn't mean the bike is a fake, just that he's pulled that information from somewhere and put it in his ad. He may not be as clued up on them as you are. Plus English isn't his 1st language.

I stand to be corrected, but it looks like the real thing to me.

  6. it may be but the numbers werent progressive they started at 1 every year . could be that there were 800+ 2004 999Rs though but that wouldnt make it as rare as he states. Only pointing out the facts .

It does look very good though . 12k slightly optimistic .

  7. Initial post has disappeared.
    Now it's here,

"I have been offered this 999 prototype, 2001 bike, verified by the factory as there prototype, brought by the current owner in 2006 direct from the factory and stored since - what are people's thoughts on this ? Worth buying or not worth bothering with ? 12. Are the rear sets off a 996(998/748/916)?

  13. No, they are the same as 998 but with slightly different hole centres :)

  14. But there not 999 ones?

  15. Frame doesn't have the adjustable mount points either.

  16. Strange too @GrantShortland - all your other posts are here except where you said 'Nigel Goodman works for Ducati uk'
@El Toro can you get me this geezers email? (Nigel Goodmans) :)

  17. And? :)

  18. It does, it's set on the high one which is obscuring the lower mounts :)
