Think you will find most thought he was (once we made it thru the end of the homophobic 90's) it's just that stories about George sold column inches.

People enjoy knowing their idols have flaws and are 'like them' in lots of ways. Don't tarnish everyone with your jaded negativity

Same with Freddie. And imho they are in the same bracket.

 

There have always been stories of him doing things like turning up unannounced to the bedside of a child ill with cancer because they were a big fan. Thankfully most didn't sell their story to the red tops for them to insinuate some kind of 'pervert ' headline

 

I had heard of him doing that but I'd say the random acts of kindness are the ones that are really nice.

Well done George, a lot of kindness in that man. A true gent.

I do have the feeling though that there may be more to his geath than meets the eye. I suppose time will tell.
