  3. Lives on one from November on wards.. and have a similar voltage to you.. well over 12V (cant remember exactly..

Ive put it on my other trickle charger just incase the optimate is fecked

  4. The talk of belts was in response to the OPs concerns about belt changes every two years.

  5. Batteries don't perform as well when cold. Is it an AGM battery??

  6. Come to think of it, I did have a little trouble starting the 999 once. As I'd had fuse to fuse holder connection problems with my SS, I took each fuse out and checked it on turn. Bingo! Don't remember which fuse it was but one wasn't contacting properly and a good wiggle sorted it out and have never had another problem.
    Worth checking out your fuses...

  7. Sor , my bad

  8. £90(odd) quid every 2 years, that's under £1 a week. Factor in lack of depreciation compared to Jap bikes and its financial sense (honest wife).

  11. Granted maybe I am just being a pussy??. But it will not doubt be a job that is scheduled to be done just as you get a late invite to Cartegena (Or input any other foreign track with decent weather).. I will state however with how cheap a 749's are selling (WHY SO CHEAP I ASK MYSELF?) they are a lot of bike for the cash, my other option was a RSV MILLE R that in comparison to what you get are almost being given away, granted finding a good clean example can be troublesome but they are there..

  12. Nope, technically I am not related to anybody,

I am a only child, ,my mother was a only child, and my father was a only child....

It's just me in this big bad world..

  13. Bold statement, I believe the Pyrenees is has been written about as being "OK"... Honestly If I was not so close to Dover to be able to get into France I think I would have stab myself in the neck with a pencil.. Local roads here out to Essex are terrible now..

Congestion on top of congestion and no f#cker has a legit licence. That is before the state of the roads and "traffic calming" measures are spoken of.

At this rate if it is not riding on a track day I may as wheel take the bicycle out..

    Regards

  17. What not to ride??

  18. 749 is the entry level bike. Values rise as you go up through the range. You won't get a cheap 999R...

  19. Nope, that was a different girl :)

  20. The way I feel I am a entry level rider, I always fancied a 748 esp for a bit of track use, local track for me is Either Brands or Lyddon hill, plus not having ridden a sports bike in anger for a few years I think it would be for the best
