Well Jerez is now ticked off my bucket list. Stupidly good track and perfectly suited the 848. Just need to convince the Mrs to go back next year!
A short video from Almeria Yesterday. It was stupidly wet, and as only a few of us has wet tyres, it ended up as open pitman with only half a dozen or so riders. First time on wets on my newish ZX10R, and it was a lot better then I thought it'd be. They take a couple of laps to get any resembling of heat into them, but after that, it's knee down and decent corner speed and braking.Best Lap in the afternoon was 1:59.48, and that was in pretty heavy rain by that point This is a vid from the morning, before water got behind my screen and onto the camera, so the rest of the footage would make you sea sick looking through a big blob Great track though, and well up for going back when it's dry
Can't wait for more trackdays. After doing a few this year I've got the bug now! Going to use the 899 next year aswell as this trusty old steelie
Just found this very short clip from last year at Cadwell, 1st time out on the Panigale and nearly the last......almost looped it over the mountain, may not look that close from the vid but it was. Couple of laps earlier I'd head butted the camera hence why it's pointing downwards.....whoops. Apologies for the questionable quality!
What you should be apologising for is not having an external shot of the mountain! The track day photographer is missing a trick not having a high frame-rate action cam set up to sell slo-mo videos of jumps! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thinking of getting mine out on track this year too. Could be interesting on the mutly after sports bikes for so long!
Very restrained and gentlemanly. Highly embarrassing for a number of sports bike riders including the one who appeared to put his hand up in surrender. Truly awsome as ever . Andy
I love watching videos of Adventure bikes taking on sports bike MattM from on here has organised a track day at Castle Combe in March, and as there's no way my ZX10R will pass noise regulations, I'm taking my Honda Africa Twin instead as it's been sat gathering dust in the garage since about August. It'll be fun trying to keep with the sports bike boys with my 100bhp on a 225kg bike. At least I'll have heated grips and sat nav
Inters. The fella that passes me right at the end is a mate on an 899 I pass early on, and he normally rides fast group. TBH, if I hadn't had my little issue earlier in the year, I'd have stayed in fast group; I swapped with another guy. Following day I swapped from scorpions to race SC tyres, and touched 2'02 which (tbh) I was mega happy with. Having the bike totally out of shape into T1, with a couple of friends pissing themselves in pitfall as I tried top get it turned, felt awesome! Well, after the first few laps when it felt terrifying!! Although I now have a few 'battle' scars from Island and Shell on my centre stands, and more on my pegs
Fair play buddy you're going well. Inters is a funny old group, some that go very well and some that would be slow in the novice group. I love seeing non sport bikes getting a workout on track.
