A Shame Seeing Another Collection Being Sold Off..

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Noods, Dec 31, 2016.

  1. Sorry to see another big private collection of privately owned Ducatis being broken up and sold off for what ever reason..
I remember seeing these featured in MCN a few years back and also later on YouTube .. Only a couple left now apparently and they are up for sale too..

  2. Better off in serviceable condition and back on the road, though most will end up in another collection..

  3. That's true... I'd rather see them at least having an odd run out helping keeping the dust away..

  4. He says his reserve is £16K - people have bid to over £14K - then he drops this in today and doesn't alter his reserve???

    UPDATE
Having just revisted the history file of this bike,it appears that the bike had done 15000Km and the speedo was changed into a new MPH around 2003. It has done 2900 miles since then so the actual verified milage is around 12000. Apologies for confusion.

  5. And not been used for 7 years, that could end up costing a small fortune to get it back on the road. There's been a couple of SP5 's on car and classic recently which didn't sell for £14k so £16k seems optimistic....

His name is Jack Gratton and you can see his video of the collection on You Tube.

Always wanted an SP5 but this one 's not for me

  6. Opps! Not good... X

  7. I did ask him why is he selling his prized collection off.. His reply was " just got bored with them really " X

  8. i was in touch with him last year about buying one of his bikes. nice guy.

  9. Yes, exactly as I found him too... I was offered his 998R for £17k which initially sounded great but, a lot of non standard parts had been fitted with missing originals. Non carbon nose cone with no original, along with no mirrors or headlights.. No original foot pegs, but the rearsets were nice! Titanium akro exhaust with race chip, but again no originals, no bike cover and no original numbered plaque either.. Shame, but not quite for me...

  10. you would hate to buy some of my bikes 998R have not rode it for 11years 2644 miles from new can't even find log-book lol or spare key.

  11. That 998R would look better in my lounge - take the attention away from the crap carpet :D

  12. Yeah I totally agree but if the collection is split up and sold individually there is a better chance of them actually being ridden and enjoyed rather than an investor or speculator who isn't really bothered about motorcycles so long as he gets a healthy return

  17. Funny you should say that - she just dislocated and snapped her ankle falling over the Christmas Tree flex :( - I've spent the last two days in and out of hospital, she now has a horrible cage thing fixing it together! Brother here now to visit her and I'm having copious amounts of beer tonight.
She said to tell you that your 998R would take peoples attention from my awful carpet :D
