Also that is a very good piece and sensibly written. There's simply too much negativity from both sides for my liking, many Brexiters are labelled racist, many remainers labelled cowardly. Neither entirely true Ultimately, as the article states, leaving gives us ALL full control of our country. It's not handed over to one side more than the other, it becomes our responsibility and the options for the future are far broader than they ever have been. It's just a pity that our media coverage seems to only want to fuel negativity and continue with scared remainer style views. Such is life eh
Im watching Sky news now, and their polling is ridiculous. For a start, they're talking about polls, of which are taken following numerous negative articles they themselves run about Brexit. They don't however talk about the positives that can come from Brexit, they don't talk about the negative aspects of the EU, its all geared to keep the doom and gloom rolling as thats what they believe sells. Ive just heard them interview a remain voter (those are the ones that are smart apparently) and in his words he feels that by leaving the EU (which is nothing more than a trade agreement expanded) that we're turning our backs on Europe, our friends in Europe etc etc Clearly he's not that well educated or perhaps he's simply being scared witless by the constant barrage of negativity the state and media are feeding him. What a load of cobblers. The future is unknown, but thats not to say its doom, its very likely to be quite rosey IF the energy being used negatively is focused to more positive outcomes for all. If not already from the posts above Id have a read of this, its quite neutral and frankly just a very sensible outlook. An optimist's guide to Brexit
Ivan Rogers was firmly Brussel's man in Whitehall, not the other way round. He's a former acolyte of Ken Clarke who believes unquestioningly in the European Project and is utterly unable to conceive of any future for the UK other than as a region within a European superstate. It was always absurd that Cameron should have involved him in his "renegotiations" and even more ludicrous that he should have been chosen to lead Brexit negotiations. It would have been a waste of everyone's time and taxpayer's money to have him in the room. He approaches all "negotiations" with the EU from the EU's point of view and from the standpoint of how best to keep the project going and how to manage expectations to ensure Britain stays in it. Theresa May's first act on becoming PM should have been to get rid of him and not wait for him to flounce off. Good riddance.
It seems the UK will be a very unpleasant place to be for anyone who doesn't fit into the ideals of the new Master race.
Sky are still pushing their own polls without saying where they were taken, how many people were involved and what the full poll asked and yet they believe they are still independent. three things He was due to retire in a few months anyway so resigning 8 weeks early was little more than a remainer grandstanding like Cameron, storming off in a huff. His ability to get stuff "done" highlighted his inability to do his job when he failed to get a last minute deal for Cameron which ultimately sank Cameron Lastly, he and his whole department will be unemployed the minute we leave, how is that an incentive for a man to do the best job he can? He's stepped down, his heart wasn't in it to get the best deal for the U.K. (whether you agree with Brexit or not that was his job) and now is a brilliant time to appoint a proper and enthused person to get the best deal
He was unable to do the job Cameron asked him to do because he was and remains fanatically committed to the opposite course. He should therefore never have been asked to do it in the first place. It is fanatical Europhiles who are intolerant and totalitarian, not those determined to implement democracy, and the former should get out of the way.
Almost right. But perhaps it's more accurate to state that the UK will be a very unpleasant place to be for anyone who wants to stay part of the EU....because we won't be. You can't please everyone, such is life
The current government are already on borrowed time from the latest news. They did a poll in the local paper here and they got the same result as Sky. If people lose their jobs then the Tories will be booted out. Simple really.
Well it'll be as unpleasant as they want to make it. If you continuously cavil, bellyache and look for reasons to be miserable you will surely find them. Those people who cannot comprehend that in a democracy you don't always get your ow way can always leave the UK and go and live in the EU. They should be happy there because the question of getting your own won't arise since the electorate doesn't get consulted.
The media are doing their utmost to promote this when it should be giving a rounded view Brexit must never be a positive outcome in their view and are feeding the negative frenzy that appeals to the misinformed U.K. Media should be ashamed of itself as its them giving the UK a bad name
that sky is a load of msm sh*t and if you watch it then you deserve to be treated the way that they do
Asking duke not to be blinkered is like asking Corbyn to win a national election. it's never going to happen. Away from " we are all doomed" neigh sayers one figure stands out a country mile. Why is it twice as many people want to come to the U.K. and not from just poor countries, than people from the U.K. want to go and settle in Europe? This is predicted to increase after brexit.
