It isn't, but don't underestimate their political nouse. They have the ability to tell us, with absolute certainty, that black is white, and half the population of Scotland believes them.
I was just watching that on my lunch break. Basically saying that if the UK goes for "Soft Brexit" (which isn't Brexit at all), she'll do the UK the favour of not holding a 2nd independence referendum (which she doesn't have the power to call btw) for the period of the Brexit negotiations. :Hilarious: All with a straight face too.
I've contacted the leader of my local parish council - he said that it really wasn't his place to argue Brexit terms and conditions nor was it his place to push for a referendum on independence from the rest of the UK for Bersted . Why can't *all* minor leaders know their place and understand their own limitations?
As much as the snp wind bags huff and puff, they won't know for at least 5 years whether it is worth staying in the U.K. or not On that basis I see the snp being least honest in pushing "what is best for Scotland" is being used to push "independence at any cost" through the back door. This is the struggle the snp have, they are effectively a one trick pony, just like UKIP and they use the "hate the UK government" to hide their own inability to govern in Scotland. That ultimately will be for the people of Scotland to see through but to stay relevant they must maintain a visible presence through jibber jabber. The SNP are in a rush for independence because if they wait too long, people will be able to say to them, "hey, you've been in power for ages, where is all the stuff you promised?" They feel they have to fight their corner I get that, I'm just not convinced we are the people they should be fighting.
I see another high profile remainer is blaming brexit for his woes but when you read further into the excuses then suddenly his excuse my sound like porkies It's also worth noting as his excuses pour out, the U.K. is experiencing recotd tourism due to the lower pound, anyway Jamie Oliver to close six restaurants in 'tough market' after Brexit vote
Pathetic isn't it. Its nothing but a failed couple of chains that aren't getting the required amount of covers. Blame Brexit and don't look foolish.
In my view, where we are and what we can look forward to; EU - Economy is in a mess (apart from a select few), fragile banks (even Deutsche Bank!) with Italian banks looking very sick, slow growth, high unemployment (10%+ average), Migration issues, terrorism, Putin threat. Determined to make UK exit very unattractive even if it hurts EU businesses. Detached EU leadership losing connection with EU citizens, ongoing uncompetitive regulations to business. UK - UK manufacturers are already seeing a boost in competitiveness due to lower £, exports up, imports heading lower. Financial sector will see a downturn. Lower predicted growth but not the downturn previously predicted. EU citizens will be able to continue working and living in the UK with reciprocal arrangement for UK citizens in the EU. New EU arrivals will be able to come to a job (within a controlled programme) but cannot turn up speculatively and will not receive benefits (or tax credits) except health (reciprocal arrangement again). Certain industries may receive tariff free but depends on EU negotiation stance. Outlook - UK will be going through 2/3 difficult years during the exit process but will come out with a re-balanced economy, more manufacturing, lower service sector. We will be away from the EU when the next big crisis arrives (Euro and or banks collapse). Our future will be in our hands. Conclusion - Sit tight through the negative media coverage of the exit period, we will be in a better position long term with the UK maintaining it's competitive edge for international companies to invest in.
Spent the day in meetings with a group of companies that work for and with some of the biggest companies in the UK. Going to be a very interesting few months.
Duke, I respect your persistence as you are heavily outnumbered. It would be a boring exchange if we all had the same opinions, so keep challenging
You believe what you want and i will believe what i want. Much of the bullying, aggressive stance of the Brexit lot are to be expected, that's how they got the Country into this position of uncertainty in the first place.
