Quick question about tank capacities.

  1. Is the fuel tank capacity the same across the board for the 848, 1098 and 1198?

    Cheers in advance.

  2. Yep consumption will be different though

  3. Thought as much, with an obvious exception to the 1198SP with the Aluminium tank.

  4. so what mileage are people getting on average out of a tank for the 1198?
My usual tt run is 120 miles but i suspect i will get less than that with the1198
on the 748 i would get home with the light on

  5. About 80 miles till the fuel light comes on then 20 miles till it stops

  6. Only managed to get out twice since i bought the 1098 but I seem to be at the garage filling up a lot more than I did with the GSXR 1000! What do they do to the flippin gallon!!

  7. prob not much less than the gsxr but the tank is tiny..................grr

  8. I get 90-100 plus 20. But I guess it's very dependent on how much you razz it. Obviously I'm not as mad as you

  9. That's me riding normally lol

  10. id say about the same, but i have found it alters a alot, ive seen it at about 85 but also at over the 100, it might be faulty though?

but ive not run out and nomally squeexe approx 12 litres in on a average fuel stop, so theres plenty left

when travelling across europe it makes alot of stops :frown:

  11. Yep, theres on 10ish litres in the top of the tank, with just under 4 in reserve. This gives me plenty of chances to stop and buy muffins when out and about :upyeah:

  12. 80 miles then the light comes on

  13. 75 - 80 miles until light on then another 20-25 so around 100 before filling then put 12 litres in so a little left but not sure how much more to push it ! Oh and its an 1198

  14. I'm around 80-85 plus 25 for "spirited" riding and a bit of A road schlep (1098 with slip-on termis and "race" ecu and filter).

  15. Ouch! Can get 150 miles before warning light on my 998s, then at least 20 more on reserve. But then, I am a bit of an old fart...

  16. Even older old fart yesterday :upyeah:

  17. surely you must push it some of the way

  18. Just the last 50 miles

  19. Cheers Anth. Not had to push it yet (physically or metophorically). Last big run was through torrential downpours, floods and in some places hail stones, so I guess I took it a tad easy, even by my standards.

  20. I wouldn't have been taking it easy in those conditions......I'd have been taking the bus
