I love the idea of a drop off and pick up service and really hope this catches on. Wont be on this one but only because i have done Mugello and the factory more than once so would place a different itenary further up the list. Great idea and good luck.
Sounds good......................... (I was all very excited thinkng is was a fly away trackday) I bet its a fun trip though
There are some journeys I would forego - northern France is just plain boring, for instance, and I'd happily put the bike on the autotrain - but most times the ride there and back is the most enjoyable part of a foreign jaunt.
I kind of agree, having done jaunts across France on a couple of occasions. But I'm quite liking the idea of the no hassle getting there to play.
Fair enough, each to their own. My brother won't entertain the idea of putting his beloved 1098S on the train for fear they might damage it in some way.
It looks great,I would love to go to the Mugello GP and do not think I would want to ride my 848 all the way there. But, having bought my bike from Ducati Manchester, I am not sure I would trust them to organise the opening of a paper bag, never mind transporting my bike to Italy
You might want to find time to fill at the factory, the tour is an hour at most, it's not that big, as is the museum, an hour will do that quite well also.
The journey is a big part of the holiday i agree, but northern france is not really a part i want to do and would rather spend more time riding around where ever the chosen location is that year. I fancy southern Italy for instance an area i have not been to. I would welcome not having to spend too much time getting there. Therefore more time exploring the south. Picking the bike up somewhere on the Amalfi coast and heading south would be perfect.
I've had some indicative costs come through on this and it seems a tad expensive to me. Seems costs will be in the region of: £1700 for a twin room per person £2000 for single room per person £1250 for a couple in double room per person Or am I being a tightwad?
I'd hit the Eifel region of Germany and enjoy the journey rather than the destination. Beautiful area with some cracking fast roads.
Sounds expensive, never done Europe before, what should one realistically budget for 4 day trip for a couple for example to Italy?
