Not everyone can, nor feels the need, to spend £1500 before they even start. Some borrow bikes, some get an old track hack, some go buy an 848 ex-tri options. Nothing wrong with that
guys css havent actually confirmed the dates yet just spoke to them to book but they cant take any bookings yet!!
I couldn't handle a winter of no sunny riding, so I've been over to spain a couple of times. Euro track days are surprising good value for money, and with EasyJet/RyanAir flights coming in at under £50rtn, it's no more expensive then 3 UK track days
Yeah, the bike goes on the stillage around a week before, and it's there waiting at the track for you when you arrive. You need a hire car, but from Murcia Airport, they're around £40 for 4 days The trip I'm going on in a couple of weeks is £429 inclusive of bike transport, track time and Bed and Breakfast at the hotel, so add in £40 for the hire car and £50 for flights, it's pretty comparable to 3 UK days. The only other thing you need to spend differently to a UK track day is either Airport parking or travel to and from the Airport Fuel in spain is around the same as the UK, and you just fill up a container every morning at the Petrol station on the way to the track
Most of what you'll need I basically get ; Bike Spare tyres x 3 Leathers (draped over bike) Paddock stands Warmers Boots/Helmet/Gloves/riding underwear (in a soft bag) Soft bag with basic tools, tyre gauge, extension lead etc Fold up picnic chair Fuel Pouring jug (you're not allowed to take Jerri cans due to shipping laws - I think) You'd struggle to get wets on wheels in there too, but I've seen it done It means I then just travel with Handluggage of basic clothes, laptop etc in a rucksack
That's based on going with Nolimits, where you're given a stillage for 2 bikes, and you can fit in as much as possible within the given cube of space. If you went with FE, for example, they don't use stillages, so you get to take extra stuff (at a cost), but the downside is that your bike's loaded/unloaded by them and I've seen some horror stories of damage that they've done and then just denied. At least with NoLimits, you're responsible for loading unloading your own bike, so you only have yourself to blame if there's any damage. I put my bike in, and then a cover over it before loading all the other bits and bobs
