  1. Good point!

  2. I don't know enough to know if there is anything odd, except for the wodge of blue absorbant paper under the clutch fluid reservoir. Perhaps if you shared the photos you got, I for one would like to learn more. Andy

  3. Hard to tell from that one photo but the tyres don't look 0 mile items to me :Watching:

  4. He's got a blue wheelie bin!! That's odd! o_O

  5. There is a lot of errors in that review - they built 200 and all were 2003-04 (well, actually they built 201 according to Ducati when my mate checked prior to buying his)

  6. So all I've learned is shit ..... again :Bag:.

  7. Have you not got enough of these? :Wideyed:

  9. I'd have picked a better place to take the pictures too. He's obviously not big on presentation.

  11. So,
I noticed a few anomalies on the sticker kit - but these were positioned all over the place by Ducati with significant differences from bike to bike.
This is why I wanted to check with Ducati that it was indeed a Fila.
A little while before I saw this bike for sale I remember a Red 999R for sale and I am sure it was at the same dealer (a few months before this cropped up) I'm guessing this was about 2 years ago, maybe less.
There are tales that not all Fila's had stickers lacquered in at the factory and some were dealer fit - I have yet to find confirmation of this - but it made me wonder if some standard Red bikes had been converted to Fila's prior to sale (there was an official accessory Fila sticker kit for sale in 2003 from Ducati - I have my doubts that this is even one of those kits as they haven't been available for years).
My bike is a one owner (until I purchased) 1500 mile bike and confirmed by Ducati and Nelly as a genuine Fila on Ducati's records.
Here is just one area that I was concerned about...

A detail of my fairing - note where the Advance sticker stops and how it is positioned to the white number board...

Now look at his from the pictures he sent me today...

This is why (amongst other details) I wanted to confirm with the Engine and Frame numbers :)

I have had no further reply and will not be pursuing it further - needed to borrow some money off AC to afford it anyhoo :Hilarious:

  12. Given the coverage the advert will get both within the (supposedly knowledgeable) FB group and outside (as here), am I being naive to think that the bike has to be genuine ? The guy selling it surely has a lot to lose unless of course the FB group doesn't know a lot or he has been hoodwinked himself. I'm overthinking this, aren't I ? Andy

  13. The lovely Fabiana will be able to confirm. But obviously without any numbers to give her, even she's going to find it difficult to prove it's provenance. ;) She's good, but not that good.

  14. Exactly, I would imagine if it isn't genuine then he doesn't know - as it was deffo sold as a Fila prior to his ownership. Not saying it isn't either but those decals look odd to me. Any buyer would need the numbers to check before agreeing a price and I would imagine would need it commissioning to hear it run. I know I would, so lost my interest now :)

  15. don't you have a dogging site to buy?

  16. Reservoir dogging is back on :D

  17. Reservoir Cogs already exists ;)

  18. I just googled that and got a cycling club

  19. You may just have discovered another difference between some of them exige, my advance sticker doesn't stop short either, it's the same as the one up for sale.
