British Indy: What Happens Now?

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Wait and see.

  2. It won't make any difference.

  3. I honestly think you should. You say they have destroyed jobs in your employment sector and you can no longer retire abroad as you had planned.

Sound grounds for a legal challenge, I think. :)

    Power to the people. :D

  4. Mcdonalds isn't doing another Frozen toy drive in happy meals again are they?

As to Sturgeon, my point remains. She knows once article 50 is voted on and passed, she is fucked for 2 years as they will not be able to say the deal is bad for Scotland until they know what the actual end deal is They also said they would table 50 amendments

The lib dems have said they want a would table multiple amendments of which one will be a second referendum and with 9 mp's they are sure to be listened by pretty much no one, except themselves.

Labour, well let's be honest, no one knows what Labour thinks anymore.

  5. Once we are out, she's fucked forever.

I just can't see a vote to leave the UK, then apply to go through the process of reapplying for EU membership with all of the currency uncertainties getting through. They are a one issue party, without independence, what have they got? You can only say "it's Westminster's fault" for so long before people start to see through it.

  6. The reality is that Scotland is a part of the UK and it is the UK that is, for now, a member of the EU. Scotland is not and never has been a member of the EU. If Scotland wishes to be a member of the EU it must leave the UK first and then apply for membership of the EU, with all that a new membership entails, adopting the Euro etc.

Any other view is just wishful thinking.

  7. I look around at the separate parts of the U.K. and their reaction.

England hasn't got it's own devolved parliament yet so not a lot other than our local mp's

Northern Ireland voted by a small majority to stay in the EU but understand we are all part of the U.K. so will support the government but obviously will want the best for the U.K. and N.I.

Wales voted in favour of leaving by a small amount but they sent their devolved government rep to challenge article 50 but again will work with the U.K. government to get the best for the U.K. and Wales

Scotland said fuck you, up yours, even looking at us wrong will get us pushing for an independence vote ya sassenach bastards as many times as we want

Now, I want to be quite clear on this, the snp do NOT represent all scots

  8. This from Lord Newby, the Liberal Democrat leader in the Lords. They simply cannot help themselves, those Liberal Democrats.
Vermin, they need to be extirpated from political circles. Having opinions is one thing ... out-and-out lying though is something else. Lying scum.

  9. wrong wrong wrong,jv. simple process of swapping Scotland for uk in any part of the process. i can dig out the eminent legal experts evidence later if you remind me.
    stop spreading the torygraphs lies.
anyhoo. as gimlet mentioned only 2 out of every five voted leave. many where indi voters, and from fishing communities
(who are already becoming aware of being shafted by the uUK's negotiation position_ i recon they will settle for single market access should they be forced to go for a rerun.

  10. I think the lib dems are showing why they were wiped out in the last election

Yep, I'm pretty sure the constitution of most democratic countries isn't based on who stayed at home and didn't vote, might be wrong but happy to be shown differently?

  11. There will be no access to "The Single Market" or indeed any market after Brexit as the UK will be in an entirely different universe. This was explained to me by my local Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate.

Hey, this making-up-shit thing is fun, I see why the Lie Dems do it!

  13. The fishing communities will be hit quite hard by Brexit as a high proportion of the UK fish catch is exported and much to the EU.

  14. Why, have they said a tariff would be applied? I don't think they have

The only issue in regards to fishing will mean that the EU countries cannot come into British waters to fish. The problem there like most british law will be will we have enough resources to enforce get out of my waters

  15. Sorry Fin but IMHO it is you who is wrong and I am fairly confident that when we look back in a few years time it is my view that will be seen to have prevailed.

The idea that you can "simply" swap Scotland for the UK in the EU is just ludicrous for so many reasons. It just isn't going to happen. Sorry. And whoever is peddling this stuff is just lying to you.

My view may coincide with the torygraph but it is my view. (The torygraph has gone all "Premium" on me and I not prepared to pay for online content, even from the highly objective and widely respected journalists of the Telegraph ;))

Maybe you prefer to believe this nonsense ?

  16. Wee Eck said the last one was a "once in a generation opportunity", do you think he was lying or that he is just undemocratic ?

  17. i will dig it out later. we are currently a part of the eu, we already meet every entry requirement (seeing as we cant up until this financial year borrow so we dont have a defecate) the debt is the bank of england. successor state, simples. but like i said if there is a rerun, i think we will go for more of a Nordic style model, possibly just single market, the no voters need to be considered also.

  18. Scotchland isn't a country. Its a region within the UK, confirmed unequivocally by a referendum two years ago. Just to remind everyone, Scotland's population size is equivalent to that of the county of Yorkshire. Both lovely places but that's a docked and cauterised Jack Russel tail trying to wag an entire Great Dane. It isn't going to happen.

  19. Scotland may be a "part" of the EU but it is not a "member" of the EU. If Scotland was to apply as an independent country I don't think a "Nordic style model" would be an option. I also think that the EU will be a very different entity in 2 years time, and I don't just mean the UK no longer being a member.

Never a truer word said :upyeah:
